Personal Life
Davis was raised in Newmarket, Ontario. When she was 10, she first discovered an interest in public speaking and the arts, which led her to public speaking competitions. She also began practicing Taekwondo. As a result, Davis began competing on a national level in this sport.
Professional Life
Davis began her career by competing on Canada’s Next Top Model. While she placed sixth, it helped her sign with one of the top agencies in the field, Ford Models.
After spending some time in modelling, she started appearing in different productions as well. She had a small role in Saw IV. Her first lead role came in Jumping the Broom, an indie movie featuring Angela Bassett and other well-known stars.
This was followed by her being cast in Wrong Turn as Sara Suarez. This successful horror film was part of a larger franchise, as the actress appeared in Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings.
In 2014, Davis appeared in Debug, followed by 2016’s short film Adorn and 2020’s Perpetual Motion, where she played Furia.
Television
On television, the actress appeared in Da Kink in My Hair in 2007, followed by a role in Degrassi Goes Hollywood, a TV movie based on the highly successful Degrassi franchise. In 2009, she was on The Listener and then, in 2011, appeared in Skins and Lost Girl.
2012 saw her show up in Space Janitors. In 2014, Davis appeared in Murdoch Mysteries, as well as Beauty & the Beast, The Listener once more. This was followed by two roles in 2015, in The Book of Negroes and 19-2. In 2017, she was in Incorporated, followed by Private Eyes the next year.
2018 had various roles, such as A Shoe Addict’s Christmas where she played Lorna, Big Top Academy, and Half UnTold.
In 2021, Netflix premiered Jupiter’s Legacy, which featured the actress in a central role, playing Petra Small. Small was the daughter of the Flare, known as Flare II, gifted with flight and other powers. Despite her burgeoning doubts about the superhero work, the character continues the legacy of her retired father. The same year she was cast as Myrrha in Titans.
In Jupiter’s Legacy, she was seen alongside cast members Ben Daniels, Elena Kampouris, Gracie Dzienny, Ian Quinlan, Josh Duhamel, Kurtwood Smith, Leslie Bibb, Matt Lanter, Tyler Mane, Mike Wade, Meg Steedle, David Julian Hirsh, Conrad Coates and Andrew Horton.
Trivia
The actress has been practicing Taekwondo since she was a child. She got to a national level and received multiple medals. Currently, this is serving her in her acting career, as it allows her to portray action heroines and superheroines more successfully. She has had several roles in action-oriented shows, both with fantastic elements and without. She has also appeared in dramas.
Davis has expressed an interest in the law as a potential pursuit.
Before getting cast on Jupiter’s Legacy alongside veteran actor Conrad Coates, Davis appeared on the show Da Kink in My Hair, where he also had a part, albeit a recurring one.
