Kurtwood Smith is an American actor best known for his roles in Robocop, Rambo III, and That ’70s Show, where he played a recurring character, Red Forman.

The actor started acting on stage. He began appearing in films and on TV in 1980 with a few small roles. In 1989, the actor appeared in Dead Poets Society as the strict father of one of the young students.

The actor is set to reprise his iconic role as Red Forman for that ’90s show, which has been announced but not yet aired.
Kurtwood Smith has a rather unique name that his mother made up, thinking Kurt to be too short and too overused but wanting to use Kurt after a country musician she liked. As a result, he is one of the few, if not the only, people named Kurtwood out there.
