Her early life and career beginnings

Claudia grew up in London, living on a barge with her family at a young age. She left school to be homeschooled by her mom when she was fourteen, returning to Birmingham at seventeen only for her family to begin experiencing financial difficulties. According to Claudia, it was traumatic having bailiffs come to their door now and then and also encountering other forms of hardships. She had no formal training because her family couldn’t afford it. However, her mother cleaned houses to get her into a ballet class. Their condition affected her badly, and she suffered from anxiety disorder and panic attacks.

Having taken up odd jobs from such a young age, singing in pubs, dog walking, doing promo work, she joined an LGBTQ+ theatre company called Pink Space. Later on, she decided to move to London to secure an agent but met rejections and ended up residing at her aunt’s. After then, she got her accommodation working at an old NHS Trust Building in Balham as a property guardian and doing other jobs until Hannah Phillips discovered her, and acting works began coming her way.

Claudia’s professional career life

Claudia’s acting career began in 2012, playing in a short film Rosie and appearing as Kate Marshall in a British medical soap opera Doctors. She appeared in a mystery tv series House of Anubis as Sophia Danae. She reprised her role as Sophia in the 90-minute movie House of Anubis: The Touchstone of Ra, which was the 191st and final episode of the show in 2013. Afterward, she portrayed Mrs. Douglas in the television costume drama The paradise, as Jenny Annover in the medical drama series Casualty, and landed a recurring role in Doctors as Poppy Conroy.

The budding actress, in 2015, landed a starring role as WPC Annie Taylor in a British police procedural series WPC 56 and also played in the miniseries Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Her other tv appearances are in Josh, Bull, Call the Midwife, Father Brown, and Carter’s Get Rich, all between 2015 and 2017.

From 2017, she played in the British police procedural series Line of Duty, appearing as Detective Constable Jodie Taylor, and plays the main role of Lucy in the long-running television sitcom Porters. Claudia also acted in many others, including in Vanity Fair, Doctor Who, and became a part of the period drama Bridgerton in 2020.

In Bridgerton, she worked with Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Nicola Coughlan, Jonathan Bailey, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Ruth Gemmell, Luke Newton, Luke Thompson, Polly Walker, Ruby Barker, Ben Miller, Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews and Golda Rosheuvel.

Her personal life

Claudia is vegan, a minimalist, and also a friendly person. Due to depersonalization resulting from the frequent panic attacks and anxiety she developed from childhood, she finds chanting helpful and meditates often. Also, Claudia practices Nichiren Buddhism alongside her brother, David, and partner, Robert. Her condition led to her inactivity on social media because she did not want people’s activities and comments to affect her life.
