Personal Life

Stoll is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He got engaged to actress Nadia Bowers in 2014, and they got married the next year.

Professional Life

Stoll began his career in theater. In 2004, he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his work in Intimate Apparel, starring opposite Viola Davis, Oscar and Tony-winning actress.

In 2001, Stoll would have his first film role. He had a more formal debut on television and in film in 2004.

In regards to film, some notorious appearances by Corey Stoll include North Country, Lucky Number Slevin, A Girl like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story, Push, Salt, and others.

He starred in Law & Order: LA, playing Detective Tomas Jaruszalski.

He would appear as Ernest Hemingway in Midnight in Paris in 2011. In 2014, he was in Non-Stop, and This Is Where I Leave You. The next year, he was in Dark Places and also joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing as Darren Cross, also known as the villain Yellowjacket. Other notable film roles include The Bourne Legacy, Black Mass, The Seagull, The Report, and West Side Story.

In 2013, he took part in a House of Cards, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In this hit political drama series from Netflix, he played Rep. Peter Russo, a recurring character who would appear in 12 episodes. In addition to the Golden Globe nomination, he would be nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and for a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor. He would go on to appear in The Strain, an FX horror series.

In 2016, he would join forces with renowned director Woody Allen in the film Cafe Society.

In 2019, Stoll joined the cast of the Netflix drama Ratched, which is a prequel series for the classic film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, starring Jack Nicholson. Ratched is a stylish series following the life of the villainous nurse Ratched prior to the events of the film.

In 2020, Stoll joined the cast of the popular drama series Billions, which follows a hedge fund manager, Bobby Axelrod, as played by Damian Lewis, and his nemesis, an attorney, played by Paul Giamatti. Stoll plays Michael Prince, a business rival for Axelrod. Stoll joined the cast as a recurring character in season five and as a main one in season six. Other notable television roles include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Charmed, Numb3rs, ER, Life on Mars, The Good Wife, Homeland, and Scenes from a Marriage.
