Yael Yurman’s first opportunity for acting was in 2015. She debuted in The Man in the High Castle, the Amazon series based on the Philip K. Dick story. The series is about an alternate dystopian world where the Nazis win the war. Yurman played Clara Sampson for three episodes of the show. The series has been popular and ran for various seasons, exploring different elements of this dystopian world and the continued fight against the occupation.
In 2017, the actress was cast as Anastasia for Once Upon a Time. She appeared in the seventh season. Her character was based on one of the step-sisters from the Cinderella story, Anastasia, and the character of Rapunzel from the classic fairy tale and the Disney property. The actress was a fan of the series before appearing in the seventh season. Like other characters on once Upon a Time, Anastasia was a new interpretation of this character from Disney and other stories on Cinderella, which gives the character a whole novel role and set of abilities.

Before auditioning for Once Upon a Time, the actress was already a fan of the series and was thrilled to have the opportunity. Unfortunately, on the day of the audition, her voice disappeared almost completely. Despite this setback and her own doubt about whether to audition at all or not, she got the part of Anastasia a few days later.
Her performance as Anastasia was praised.
