Professional Life

Lawson started acting early on. His first role was in 1993 in Time Trax. He appeared in The Adventures of Skippy the same year, followed by a 1997 role in The Wayne Manifesto, 1999 roles in Sabrina Down Under, and in Chameleon II: Death Match. In 2001, he was in TwentyfourSeven.

In 2006, Lawson got a starring role in Neighbours, an Australian soap opera. He played Frazer Yeats between 2006 and 2008, and the role made him quite popular. He was nominated for Most Popular New Male Talent at the 2007 Logie Awards for his performance.

The poetry book To My Country was meant to celebrate the Australian spirit in the wake of the bushfires that devastated the country. The proceeds from the book went to The Koala Hospital, an organization doing preservation and conservation efforts.
