Charlie Carver is an American actor best known for his roles in Teen Wolf, Desperate Housewives, and The Boys in the Band.

Carver has an identical twin brother named Max. His birth name is Charlie Martensen, and his parents are the physician and historian Robert Martensen and the philanthropist Anne Carver. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2012 and then studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater. In 2016, he came out as gay.
The actor debuted on-screen with his twin brother in Desperate Housewives. They portrayed Porter and Preston Scavo, the sons of Lynette Scavo, played by Felicity Huffman.
Charlie and Max also appeared together in Teen Wolf, portraying twin werewolves. Charlie Carver was Ethan Steiner, while Max portrayed Aiden Steiner throughout season 3. Carver’s character Ethan would also return in season 6B.
The brothers also appeared together in The Leftovers, a critically acclaimed HBO drama series. They were featured in the first season.
Charlie Carver has had various guest star roles on series like Hawaii Five-0 and The League. In 2017, he was part of When We Rise, a historical miniseries tracing the development of the LGBTQ rights movement from the Stonewall riots and beyond.
In 2018, Carver debuted on Broadway, playing Cowboy in the 2018 revival of The Boys in the Band. He would reprise the role in the 2020 film, adapting the play alongside other actors, like Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, and more. Again, the cast was comprised of openly gay actors.
In 2017, he appeared in the films Fist Fight and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2018, he was part of the cast of In The Cloud.
In 2020, Carver was featured in Ratched, a Netflix drama series based on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and centering the character of Nurse Ratched. He played Huck Finnigan, one of the main characters.
In 2022, Carver appeared in The Batman as The Twin. Additionally, he is set to appear in the series Blooms as Elliot Bloom.
Carver also appeared in the music videos for Where’s the Love? by The Black Eyed Peas and Bad Habit by Ben Platt.
The actor was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award, the Broadway.com Audience Awards for Favorite Breakthrough, and for the GLSEN Gamechanger Award. In addition, he won the GLSEN award.
