Her best friend, Jamie Ranah’s mother, whom she refers to as Shirly, assisted in raising and sculpting her into what she has become today.

Amanza’s professional career life

Amanza moved to Los Angeles, where she began a career in modeling by doing small gigs and posing for Lucky Strike Lanes. She walked runways and appeared in several television commercials and billboards while gracing the pages of Seventeen and Flaunt. Her love for children also led her into teaching kids dance and gymnastics.

Since Amanza studied Interior design, she naturally gravitated towards it and began decorating homes for elites. She also staged homes for the high-class individuals and the Oppenheim Group, a luxury brokerage firm centered around Hollywood Hills involved in selling high-end real estate to affluent buyers.

The stunning model became a Briefcase Model in Deal or no Deal NBC hit game show, a season after Meghan Markle from 2008 to 2019, and appeared in a few other television shows.

In season 2 of Selling Sunset, after critics made comments about inclusivity and diversity, insinuating that only the blondest and whitest were cast on the show, Amanza Smith came along, becoming their only black cast member.

Before then, she had already got her real estate license and joined the Oppenheim Group; being best friends with top agent Mary Fitzgerald and real estate mogul Jason Oppeinheim helped open doors for her entry. And as an entertainer, she quickly blended into the group.

Joining Selling Sunset, a Netflix reality television series focusing on the sale of luxury properties in Hollywood and the glamorous lives of the Hollywood real estate agents, thrust her into the limelight and gained her global recognition. She became a successful woman, gracing events and living an enviable life alongside her co-agents.

In Selling Sunset, she appeared alongside cast members Mary Fitzgerald, Chrishell Stause, Heather Rae Young, Christine Quinn, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Romain Bonnet, and Maya Vander.

The interior decorator has a business, Kidterior Design which started as an only kid decorating venture but has eventually spread to other age groups. She also runs The Attract Shoppe, a lifestyle shop that showcases women-owned brands and is involved in charity works.

Her personal life

Amanza married Ralph Brown, a retired professional football player and NFL star. They have two children, Noah and Braker, and split shortly after.

In August 2019, her ex-husband disappeared, and till today, Amanza or anyone is clueless about his whereabouts.
Being a single mum, she weathered many storms and faced difficulty doing odd jobs to fend for herself and support her children. She had no child support, so walking dogs, cleaning houses, and retail jobs came to her initial rescue until fortune smiled on her.
