Her early life and career beginnings

She was born Drew Blythe Barrymore to American actor John Drew Barrymore and aspiring actress Jaid Barrymore. Her parents divorced in 1984, and she has three older half-siblings from her father.

Barrymore grew up in West Hollywood until seven when she moved to Sherman Oaks. She attended Fountain Day School in West Hollywood and Country School.

As a young girl, she led a reckless nightlife and partying and landed in rehab at thirteen. She attempted suicide at fourteen and was checked back into rehab. After the entire trouble she went through. She moved into her own house at fifteen.

Having come from a long line of actors from her paternal family, it was no surprise that Barrymore developed an interest in acting at a young age. She made her film debut with a small role in the Altered States; after that played Gertie in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Her professional career life

In 2009, her directorial debut film Whip It received positive reviews from critics, albeit it performed poorly in the box office.

She starred in the films Going the Distance in 2010, Big Miracles in 2012, Blended in 2014, Miss You Already in 2015, and the Netflix television series Santa Clarita Diet that premiered on February 3, 2017.

2020 saw the talented actress starring in the romantic comedy film The Stand-In, after which she launched a syndicated daytime talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show.

Barrymore announced that she was taking an indefinite break from acting on March 11, 2021, after giving movie lovers a wonderful screen time.

She began dating Will Kopelman in early 2011, and they married on June 2, 2012. They have two children Olive and Frankie. Barrymore filed for divorce on July 15, 2016, finalized a month later.
