About Jennifer O’Dell
Jennifer O’Dell is an American film and television actress, born on November 27, 1974. She is most famously known for portraying Veronica on the popular American television series Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, which ran from 1999 until 2002 after a planned fourth season was abruptly canceled.
Early life before fame
Jennifer O’Dell began her acting career at the tender age of 8, when she was cast to appear on a national candy commercial, follow her very first audition with which she supposedly surprised the casting director, which is a feat of itself. She then took a brief hiatus from acting after appearing in a few commercials stating that she wanted to enjoy her youth while she could. Jennifer O’Donnell went to her local high school in Ridgecrest, California, where she was also born and lived her whole childhood.
But after graduating from high school, Jennifer immediately pursued her acting career professionally and resumed auditioning. She has guest-starred in a number of television series throughout the years, including appearing as Nancy Ann in the episode “You Say Goodbye, I say Hello” (1998), and then for a second time portraying Katie in the episodes “Local Hero,” and “The End of the World as We Know It” (1999).
Her breakthrough role in The Lost World
Following her guest appearances, a casting director noticed the talented young actress and offered her the role in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, where she auditioned for and subsequently got the role for Veronica, becoming one of the main cast members of the popular 1990s television series, which was well-received by fans and critics alike.
This role elevated her stardom to another level and opened many doors to the actress. After that, she got many offers to play in various popular TV shows, where she has appeared in Scrubs (In the episode “My Lucky Night” (2003), Charmed (Playing Elisa in the episode “A Wrong Day’s Journey Into Right,” 2004), CSI: Miami (As Charlene Hartford in the episode Nailed, 2005), she also played Miss Di Martino in CSI: NY in 2007, Margaret in Two and a Half Men (2007), and even appeared in TV series Bones (in the episode “The Don’t in the Do” back in 2012. In more recent times, she has portrayed Brenda in the TV series Modern Family (Episode titled Thunk in the Trunk).
Her film career
Jennifer has also starred in a respectable amount of roles on the big screen, appearing in such classics as Saving Sarah Cain (2007), Nevermore (2007), The Man Who Came Back (2008), Black Widow (2010), Alien Battlefield (2013), and is set to appear in the upcoming movie Balkan Cursed Dream.
Her private life
Jennifer has happily married wife to her husband Mark Platzer, and they welcomed their son Logan into this world in early 2005.
