Early life before fame:

Larry was born in Cadillac, Michigan. He went to Pine River Area Schools to get his high school diploma and afterward received a Bachelor of Applied Arts in theater at Central Michigan University, as well as receiving a Master of Arts in theater at Wayne State University. Larry returned to Central Michigan University in 2005 to serve as the grand marshal for the homecoming parade.

His career as an actor:

Larry received his first high-profile TV guest star role in 2000 when he appeared as “The Fan” on season 6, episode 14 of the massively popular comedy sitcom Friends. The very next year, Larry was cast as Andy in the American sitcom television series According to Jim. He has also appeared in several movies, including Showtime, Wedding Crashers, and many TV commercials, including the PSA for the V-chip as Jim’s Andy, on ABC, Ball Park hot dogs as “Frank.” He also appeared in two episodes of the popular sitcom My Name is Earl, where he played the security prison guard Ron. Larry was also Detective Crockers in the 2007 horror movie Drive-Thru. The very same year, he also made a guest appearance on the popular American dark fantasy drama television series Supernatural (in the episode “Bedtime Stories”).

Larry also had a small role on Showtime’s dark comedy-drama series Weeds. He was also cast as Pete Denham in the 2010 film Killers, as well as portraying Vigs in Deadrise.

He also appeared on the Disney CHannel’s I Didn’t Do It as Deputy Doug, Dog with a Blog as “The Hawk,” Good Luck Charlie as “Hugo,” Mr. Doyle on Best Friends Whenever, and CBS’ Rules of Engagement, and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

In more recent years, Larry had a recurring role as Chief Engineer Newton on the first season of Fox’s sci-fi TV series The Orville (2017). He was written out of the show after the end of the first season. The very same year, he also had a recurring role as the stepfather to a troubled high school kid in the Netflix documentary American Vandal. Larry also appeared in the popular sitcom American Housewife as Ian, The Store manager, in episode 16 of the first season. His most recent credited role was in 2019, when he portrayed Officer Wilson in the HBO drama series Euphoria.

Personal life and relationship status:

Larry Joe Campbell is a happily married man, his wife Peggy Johns Campbell is a housewife, and the pair met at a party that a friend of Larry’s was hosting in 2002. They have five children altogether, two sons and three daughters, including a set of fraternal twins. They’ve enjoyed a happy marriage throughout the years.
