Jacob Rives Pitts is an American television, film, and stage actor. He has plenty of notable performances to his name as Cooper Harris in the film EuroTrip (2004), as Bill “Hoosier” Smith in the HBO miniseries The Pacific (2010), and as U.S. Marshal Tim Gutterson on the TV drama Justified (2010–15). Pitts has worked as a stage actor and performed in the play called Where Do We Live at the Vineyard Theatre in May 2004. Moreover, he has also appeared in multiple TV shows such as Law & Order, Ed, and Sex and the City. He had a recurring role in the series The sinner and is currently appearing as Lance Lord in the crime drama series Sneaky Pete.
Pitts spent his early life in Weston, Connecticut, USA. He is the son of Arlene and Joseph Rives Pitts. Pitts has always described himself as a hyperactive child whenever he has been asked to talk about his early life. During his high school years, he worked with a theater production company and performed in various productions while completing his education. He performed the role of the Mysterious Man in the play called Into The Woods. Apart from this, there is no information available about his siblings and other things. Pitts started his acting career in 1999. He first worked on the TV and appeared in an episode of Comedy Central’s sitcom Strangers with Candy. This first work provided him a lot of confidence, and then, he went on to the New York Broadway stage in 2000. At New York Broadway stage, he played Fleance from the Shakespearean play Macbeth. Right after this performance, he was cast to appear in an episode of Law & Order and Sex and the City. In 2004, he played a role in the movie named Eurotrip. He got a lot of success after this role, and he started getting invitations for interviews. In 2008, he worked in the movie 21. This movie got several Awards in different categories.
In 2006, Pitts talked about his career motivations during an interview with Damien Echols. He considered money as the first inspiration to become an actor. He also expressed during the interview that he hardly gets connected to the story while working. According to him, he just works most of the time just for the sake of money.

In 2008, Pitts received the Best Ensemble Award at the ShoWest Convention in the United States for his work in 21. The same Award was also presented to other great actors including Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, Aaron Yoo, Liza Lapira, and Josh Gad for their respective parts in the movie.
Pitts had a pretty straightforward love life. There is no information available about his past relationships and girlfriends. He is happily married to a Slovakian actress/director Tereza Nvotová since June 2020. Both are having a great time together since their marriage.
