Glen had his first TV role in 1983 in Taggart and debuted in film in 1988 with Paris by Night and Gorillas in the Mist. In 1990, he got the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival for Silent Scream. He was also cast as Hamlet in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, another acclaimed film.
