Her early life and career beginnings
Candice was raised in Mooi River, a little South African village, by her parents Willem and Eileen Swanepoel. She’s from an Afrikaner family of Dutch origin. Her mother is a South African, while her father is a Zimbabwean. Candice has an older brother named Stephen.
She attended boarding school at St. Anne’s Diocesan College in Hilton, South Africa. Scouts discovered her in a Durban flea market at age 15 and eventually introduced her to the modeling world.
Candice was passionate about beauty and fashion from a very young age. After a year of meeting the model scout, her career started to kick off with booking shows across Europe. Within two years of shuttling between Europe and South Africa, she moved to New York to model full-time.

Candice transitioned from domiciling in a dairy and beef farm in a small village in South Africa to walking the runway for big brands like Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Fendy, Givenchy, Jason Wu, Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, Christian Dior, and several others. A big feat she didn’t think would materialize.

Candice’s personal life
Candice speaks fluent Afrikaans, English, and Portuguese. She began dating Hermann Nicoli, a Brazilian model, after they met in Paris at 17. They announced their engagement in August 2015 and have two sons together. The couple broke up in November 2018.
She lives to relax on a beach, wearing sunglasses and listening to reggae music.
Her Charity works
Candice is a patron of mothers2mothers, a charity organization dedicated to building healthy, thriving families. The organization seeks to create employment opportunities for women living with HIV, and in turn to help other young women in their communities.
