Matthew Paige Damon (Matt Damon) is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer. He’s ranked among Forbes’ most bankable stars in the world. The movies in which he’s appeared have cumulatively earned over $3.99 billion dollars at the North American box office, making Matt one of the highest-grossing actors of all time. He’s also been the recipient of various prestigious accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award from five different nominations.

Professional Life

Matt began his career as an actor when he appeared in a high school theater production. He then made his professional acting debut in 1988 when he starred in the film Mystic Pizza. He found his initial stardom in 1997 after he appeared, alongside Ben Affleck, in the movie Good Will Hunting that the two actors both wrote and starred in. This won them an Academy and Golden Globe awards for “Best Screenplay.” He then continued to gain fame from critics and fans alike for his role in the cult classic movie Saving Private Ryan (1998), as well as the antihero movie The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). He also played a fallen angel in Dogma (1999), a metaphysical energy analyst in the movie Syriana (2005), a corrupt American policeman in The Department (2006), and a race-car driver Carrol Shelby in “Ford v Ferrari” (2019).

Matt Damon is also widely remembered for his starring roles as Jason Bourne in the Bourne franchise (Which spanned from 2002 to 2016) and as a con man in the Ocean’s trilogy, Linus Calwell (2001-2007).
Damon has also performed a lot of voice-over work in both documentary and animated films. He has also established two production companies together with his friend and actor Ben Affleck. He has also been involved in a lot of charity work throughout the years, including donating to organizations such as H20 Africa Foundation, Feeding America, Water.org, and One Campaign.

Early life

Damon was the second son of Kent Telfer Damon, who was a stockbroker, and his mother, Nancy Carlsson-Paige, worked as an elementary school teacher and professor at Lesley University. Matt’s father had Scottish and English ancestry, while his mother was of Swedish and Finnish descent. Her family surname was changed from Pajari to Paige.

Damons parents divorced when he was two years old, and he and his brother returned to live with their mother in Cambridge, where they lived in a packed six-family communal house. Matt’s brother, Kyle, is an artist and sculptor.

Personal life

Matt met his wife Luciana Bozan while filming Stuck on YYou in Miami (April 2003). The then became engaged on September 15, 2005, and subsequently held a private civil ceremony at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau on December 9, 2005. The couple has three daughters together. First-born came into this world in June 2006, then their second child in August 2008, and finally they welcomed their third in October 2010. Matt also has a stepdaughter Alexia Barroso (born in 1998), from Bozan’s previous marriage, and has stated that he whole-heartedly considers her his own.
