Who is Leah Ayres, and what does she do?

Leah Ayres is a successful American TV actress, since landing her first role back in 1979, where she played Christy Bringham in the American soap opera Love of Life. Since then, she’s appeared in more than 40 roles across 5 decades. So there is no denying she has the chops for acting.
Leah Simpson is perhaps best remembered for her role as Janice Kent in Bloodsport, a sports thriller action film from 1988, as well as for playing Valerie Bryson on the daytime TV show The Edge of Night.

Her early years and life in Baltimore

Leah was born in the cozy city of Baltimore, Maryland, where she attended both New York University and Tufts University, earning herself a degree in dancing from the latter. Leah Ayres has also earned a degree in M.A. from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. She graduated back in 1996.

The Television career of Leah Ayres

Leah got her first major role-playing Valerie Bryson on The Edge of Night in the early 1980s. It was a daytime serial drama. Then in 1984, she starred in the critically acclaimed television movie Velvet, with other actors such as Shari Belafonte, Sheree J. Wilson, and Mary Margaret Humes. Then she got a chance to try her acting skills on a primetime television show where she co-starred as Linda Bowman on the third season of ABC’s show 9 to 5. One of her more memorable roles was also playing Jill Schrader on HBO’s comedy 1st & Ten, which ran from 1986 to 1987.
She was also a prominent role in the short-lived “The Bradys,” where she replaced Maureen McCormick in 1990 for the role of Marcia Brady.
What has Leah Ayres been up to in recent years?
More recently, Leah has been the program director for Yoga Ed, which is located in Los Angeles. She is also the co-creator for a product called the Yoga Kit, which is designed as a kids game, as well as co-creating Games for Life, a book filled with visualization games for children. Leah Ayres has also written and starred in Living Arts/Gaiam’s Yoga Fitness for kids videos. More recently, it’s been revealed that she’s the creator of Yoga Playgrounds which are developed for children’s television programs.

Her personal life and family

Leah is someone who found her love early on when she met her future husband Bruce Kalish, who has worked as a screenwriter and produce. They’ve been happily married for over 20 years now, and judging by her most recent interviews, she’s happy with how her love life is going admitting there have been some problems in the past, but they’ve been able to get through them with proper communication. Leah and Bruce also have a son named Mackenzie Austin Kalish, who was born on June 21, 1993.
