Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Sarah Jenness, Author of ‘Ladies, Get Up!‘ She is a Midwest-born and raised woman. She has written poetry her entire life but shares many other things through her writings and her YouTube channel, Cheers By Sarah. She isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. Her motto is to “Spread love and kindness today!” And that is the motto she carries through life!
Hi! Please share your journey and what inspired you to write your book, Ladies, Get Up!
Soon after my divorce, I started having health issues. This caused me to start living my life robotically. I didn’t feel human anymore. I wasn’t enjoying life anymore. And every day seemed to be the same old thing with nothing but the goal of making it home, to go to sleep, to get back up and do it again. One day I woke up, and I was tired of living that way. So I started a journey of self-discovery and self-love. There was so much information on how to improve your life and love life again. So many of the strategies didn’t work for me. But I found some that did, and I even made some up that helped me. When I realized what a difference it was making in my life, I knew I had to share it. So I wrote this book, ‘Ladies, Get Up!’
Please tell us more about your book, Ladies, Get Up!
This book outlines the steps I took that actually worked. I added in my experiences with each step. I did this for the reader to see they are not alone. I want everyone to have the life they want and deserve, and these steps helped me get to love the woman I am today. ‘Ladies, Get Up!’ is filled with the path to self-love and loving life. It can help take the mundane and boring out of your life and make it something YOU are proud of!
In the book, each chapter has a note section just for you to write down anything you want. I found writing my notes throughout my journey helped me keep it fresh in mind and also bring calmness to the chaos of trying to figure life out. It even gave me the tools to see a common theme throughout this process. The biggest thing I want the reader to walk away with is the ability to love themselves and have a clear concept of who they are!
Any message for our readers.
You deserve to enjoy life and be proud of who you are. I want to help you get there. With the steps ‘Ladies, Get Up!’ offers, I can say it made the difference for me to start living the life I wanted! I went from avoiding looking in the mirror and not smiling to actually loving who I am! So Ladies, get up and get what you want out of this life.
It’s available on Amazon as an ebook and paperback. I recommend the paperback for easier access and note-taking. In my experience, note-taking was the difference in making this journey successful!
