Professional Life
Pattinson began his career when he was 15, acting in a theatre club. His first mainstream role was Cedric Diggory in 2005 in the Harry Potter film The Goblet of Fire. Before this, he had small roles in the Ring of the Nibelungs in 2004 and Vanity Fair, although these were cut for the theatrical release.
In 2006, he was in The Haunted Airman, which praised his performance, followed by a small role in The Bad Mother’s Handbook.
2008 saw Pattinson getting cast in Twilight as Edward Cullen, the role that would propel him to mainstream success and turn him into a movie star. While the film got a mixed reception, it was hugely popular and successful, leading to Pattinson playing Edward in the sequels to come. He worked with cast members Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in the Twilight Saga series. In 2008, he was also in the indie flick How to Be and played Salvador Dali in Little Ashes.
