Life before fame

Olivia Brown was born in Frankfurt, West Germany, but was raised in Livonia, Michigan. When she was seven years old, her family moved from Livonia to California. When Olivia was nine years old, she really fell into love with acting and decided that she would like to be an actress when growing up. She attended Santa Monica High School and graduated with excellent scores. Later on, she went to some local acting classes where she was immediately praised by her teacher for being talented when it came to acting. She made her acting debut in several Australian television series initially.

Her acting career

Olivia Brown made her big-screen debut when she appeared in a supporting role in the 1982 action comedy film 48 Hrs. She would later go on to appear in the 1984 American neo-noir rock musical Streets of Fire. After that, she was offered a role in the 1987 American black comedy film Throw Momma from the Train while also appearing in the 1989 comedy film Identity Crisis.

In the 1990s, she appeared in Man’s Best Friend (An American science fiction horror film), as well as appearing in the 1994 comedy film All Tied Up.
Her most prominent role, however, was that of Detective Trudy Joplin in the massively popular television series Miami Vice (1984 – 1989).

She has also made numerous guest appearances on such television series as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990-1996), Family Matters (1989-1997), T.J. Hooker, The Love Boat (1977-1986), and “Sister, Sister” (1994-1999).

Her recurring roles

Olivia had roles that were recurring in Designing Women (1986-1993), Hill Street Blues (1981-1987), Lois & Clark: The Adventures of Superman (1995-1999), 7th Heaven Moesha, Beverly Hills, and 90210. Olivia was also a series regular on the popular NBC sitcom Dear John (1990-1991).

Personal life and relationships

Having been born in Frankfurt, it comes as no surprise that Olivia’s parents have European roots, and she is of part-german descent.

Olivia was once married to the American actor Mykelti Williamson in 1983, but the pair sadly broke up two years later in 1985. Later on, Olivia went on to marry James Okonkwo, with who she has two children and is still happily married until this day.
Olivia also has a brother by the name of Steve Brown. He has played for the Houston Oilers of the NFL during the late eighties.

Currently, she can be found on her social media profiles, and she is active on her Twitter account “RealOliviaBrown,” where she is frequently posting various Tweets.
By the look of it, she is no longer interested in acting and is a self-proclaimed proud mom, artist, and host to foreign exchange students.
