In 2020, the actress married music producer Michael Corcoran. Gillies has Irish ancestry and Italian ancestry as well.
In 2007, the actress made her first TV appearance in The Black Donnellys, a show that she was not allowed to watch as her parents found it inappropriate for her age.
Gillies debuted on Broadway when she was just fifteen, appearing in the musical 13, where she played Lucy alongside Ariana Grande. This production was made up of teens, and Gillies stayed with the show until 2009.
In 2010, Gillies was cast as Jade West in the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Victorious, which would run for the next three years and helped her gain more recognition. After that, she reprised her role for Sam & Cat, a spin-off show for Victorious and iCarly starring Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy.
Between 2011 and 2014, she voiced Daphne, one of the main characters on the revival of Winx Club.
In 2015, she was cast in the comedy series Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, which would run until 2016. While the show saw a mixed reception, Gillies received praise for her performance. In 2017, Gillies took the role of Fallon Carrington in Dynasty, a CW reboot of the 1980’s show Dynasty. Dynasty is currently in its fourth season.
In addition to these roles, she appeared in The Exes. Gillies has also done extensive voice work for shows like The Penguins of Madagascar, American Dad!, Robot Chicken, and Welcome to the Wayne.
She appeared in Animal, a horror film, in 2014 and also starred in Killing Daddy. In 2015, she appeared in the remake of Vacation. In 2018, Gillies starred in Arizona, a dark comedy thriller.
Gillies has also done work as a musician. She appeared in the Victorious soundtrack releases. In 2013, she released a duet of Santa Baby with Ariana Grande, and in 2019, she made a surprise appearance on Grande’s Sweetener World Tour in Atlanta alongside Matt Bennett. In addition, the actress has a Jazz EP with Seth MacFarlane titled Songs From Home.
In 2021, it was announced that Gillies would voice Catwoman in the upcoming film Catwoman: Hunted.
The actress has been recognized for her “bad girl” style and musical talent.
The actress is vegan because she has a lot of food allergies, including a gluten allergy.
Elizabeth Gillies is still best friends with Victorious co-star Ariana Grande and has often appeared on her albums and even on her tour. She has also appeared on various Ariana Grande music videos, including a collaboration with Justin Bieber.
