Yon González is an Award-winning Spanish television actor who is probably most known to his viewers as Ivan Noiret Leon in the popular TV series “The Boarding School,” as well as portraying Julio Oledo in “Grand Hotel.”

Life before fame

Yon González had a relatively normal childhood and was born and raised in Bergara, Spain. He attended high school, from which he graduated in 2000. Yon couldn’t decide what he wanted to do after school, but after a talk with his parents, he was swayed towards becoming an actor.
Yon began his acting career in 2006 when he appeared in the LaSexta series SMS. He then went on to star in the Antena 3 series The Boarding School (A teen drama thriller titled El internado, which premiered on May 24 and ran until October 13, 2010.

This role can be considered his breakout performance as he became more widely recognized following it. González went on to earn the prestigious ACE Award for Best New Actor in 2010 for his portrayal of Ivan Noiret Leon. He also received the nomination for Best Actor – Drama that Golden Nymph gave out in the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in 2009.
Throughout 2008 and 2009 González starred in the popular motion picture Sex, Party and Lies (Mentiras y gordas), opposite fellow actors Mario Casas, Ana de Armas, Sebastian Cordero, and Hugo Silva.

He also appeared in the short film The Storymaker (El forjador de historias), Latex Puppets (Muñecos de latex), and Identity (Identidad), even winning the La FILA Festival of Short Films Award for being the Best Male Performance.
Then in 2010, González portrayed Constantine II of Greece in the television miniseries based on real-life events of Queen Sofia of Spain titled Sofia.

The following year in 2011 González worked in a television role appearing as Gran Reserva, where his brother Aitor Luna also starred in. His other roles include The Whos (Los Quién) and Gran Hotel (Gran Hotel). For his role in Gran hotel, Yon won the award from Fotogramas de Plata for being Best Television Actor.

His more recent roles

2015-2016 was a busy year for the actor as he appeared as the main protagonist Victor in the two-season television drama series Baja Sospecha. The series was aired on AtresMedia’s Acres Player.
The same year he also starred in the thriller movie Killing Time alongside his brother Aitor Luna, portraying the character Boris.
From 2017 Yon played Francisco Gomez in the Netflix original series Cable Girls (Las Chicas del Cable).
He has filmed his scenes for an upcoming Basque-language movie where he stars as the titular character Iñigo Kortazar, a policeman. Initial screenings of the movie have already happened in Festival du Cinéma Espagnol de Nantes 2021. He plays the main protagonist Hugo Llor in Los Herederos de la Tierra (Based on a historical fictionwritten by Ildefonso Falcones).
