Wendell Pierce is a veteran actor. His credits include over 30 films, 50 television shows, and dozens of plays. Some significant roles on television include dramatic series like The Wire and Treme. The Wire is one of the most acclaimed series of all time.

His film debut was in 1986 in The Money Pit, starring Tom Hanks. He would go on to appear in various films, such as Selma, Elsa & Fred, The Gift, Bad Moms, Piercing, and more.

In 2012, the actor was in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. He appeared in Four in 2013, with a role that earned critical acclaim and a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

On television, Pierce debuted in 1987 in Vietnam War Story. Other notable roles include numerous appearances in Law & Order, Third Watch, Judging Amy, Numb3rs, Drop Dead Diva, The Night Shift, and more. Trivia

In 2005, Pierce lost his childhood home to Hurricane Katrina. He later would go on to appear in Treme, a fictional series dealing with the real aftermath. He committed to the show and even learned to play the trombone for the part. In 2016, sadly, the actor would experience the loss of another home due to flooding.

He received a nomination for the 2020 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performance in Death of a Salesman.

In 2011, he opened Sterling Express in New Orleans, a grocery store chain.

The actor graduated from the Juilliard School’s Drama Division.
