Joshua Clemmons, known as J.P. Tha Pompafillian, and Jamar Stubbs, known as J. Stubbs, share more than just music—they share a bond forged in blood and faith. These first cousins grew up together in the vibrant communities of Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach in Broward County, Florida. Their childhoods were intertwined with shared adventures, from playful games of tag and hide & seek to imitating wrestlers and participating in little league football. Yet, beyond these childhood escapades, a profound connection was nurtured through their mutual love for music and their deep-rooted faith.
Growing up in the same congregation, Joshua and Jamar developed a rich appreciation for the church and the Word of God. This spiritual foundation not only cemented their bond but also deeply influenced their musical journey. Inspired by the 90s hip hop and R&B they grew up with and the original music composed by their bishop, their musical path was destined to intertwine.
The Spark of CS TRIBE 319
The first unofficial performance of what would become CS TRIBE 319 occurred in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At their church’s annual youth conference, Joshua and Jamar, along with two other brothers from their congregation, performed an original song to a secular beat. This performance ignited a passion within them that would lay dormant but ever-present, waiting to be fully realized years later in Germany.
The name CS TRIBE 319 is more than just a title; it’s a representation of their heritage and spiritual journey. The “C” and “S“ stand for their last names, while “Tribe“ signifies their family tree and spiritual heritage. The number “319“ is derived from the numerical order of the letters C and S, pronounced as “three one nine,“ to enhance the flow and memorability of the name.
A Journey Across Continents
Military life took Joshua and Jamar across the globe, yet their bond remained unbroken. Joshua was stationed in Vilseck, Germany, while Jamar was on a detail in Italy. During a visit to Grafenwoehr, they reconnected and rekindled their musical collaboration. Joshua shared his latest verses with Jamar, who revealed his own burgeoning interest in rap. This reunion sparked the creation of their first collaborative song, “God Please Help Me,“ setting the foundation for their musical partnership.
In 2018, they made their collaboration official by forming CS TRIBE 319. Since then, they have released two albums—”Reborn“ and “END TIMES“—and are currently working on their third, titled “REVELATION.“ Their latest single, “HELP ME,“ features Jamar’s older brother, Visionary James, who delivers a timeless and beautiful verse that seals the song’s impact.
The Mission of CS TRIBE 319
CS TRIBE 319 is more than just a rap group; it’s a ministry. Their music is dedicated to glorifying Jesus Christ, with a strong focus on humility and faith. Self-glorification has no place in their music or lives; instead, they emphasize the power and love of Jesus. Their songs often convey personal messages and testimonies, sharing their struggles, failures, and triumphs in a way that resonates deeply with their audience.
Their calling card is praise unto God, and their lyrics are crafted with expert precision, motivated by a deep understanding of the God they serve. Through their music, they aim to paint a picture of understanding without judgment or self-confidence but with a sincere desire to glorify the Lord and help others find solace and freedom in His love.
Latest Releases and Future Endeavors
Their latest single, “HELP ME,“ is a raw and powerful cry for divine assistance. The song captures the suffocating darkness that can engulf us, urging listeners to stretch out their hands and let out a heartfelt cry for help. Visionary James’ verse adds a legendary touch to the track, making it an unforgettable piece of music.
Their album “END TIMES“ features tracks like “Closed Bibles“ and “Story of My Mother,“ offering a mix of motivation, encouragement, and personal testimonies. With each album, they strive to provide more insight into their personal struggles and the healing power of Jesus, encouraging listeners to find hope and salvation in Him.
As they continue to create music, CS TRIBE 319 remains committed to their mission of spreading the message of Jesus Christ. Their upcoming album, “REVELATION,“ promises to deliver even more powerful messages of faith, hope, and love. Through their music, Joshua and Jamar aim to reach out to those in need, offering a beacon of light in a world often shrouded in darkness.

We had the privilege of interviewing J.P. Tha Pompafillian and J. Stubbs. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi, It’s great to have both of you with us today! Please share your journey with our readers.
Hi, we are CS TRIBE 319, J.P. Tha Pompafillian, and J. Stubbs. We are a Christian hip-hop group only interested in the glorification and Inaugurating Jesus Christ. I was stationed in Vilseck, Germany, and Stubbs was on a detail in Italy but would eventually have some business in Grafenwoehr, so we linked up at my barracks. We hadn’t seen each other in ages, but we always kept contact. While catching up, Stubbs asked me if I was still writing music and rapping, and I told him that it was the only thing keeping me sane, so of course. I rapped a few verses for him, and he told me that he was getting into rap, too, and wanted to do a song with me. That song would come into fruition a few years later and would be called “God Please Help Me.“ That was the chainlink that started it all; after that, for a while, we were just featuring on each other’s songs here and there until we decided to make it official and become a group in 2018. We are now two albums and one single in, the two albums “Reborn“ and “END TIMES,“ and working on the third, which will be titled “REVELATION“. And our single, which just dropped a few days ago, is called “HELP ME,“ featuring J. Stubbs’ big brother and my big cousin, Visionary James.
Please tell us about your music projects.
Our latest single, “HELP ME,“ is about regurgitating the darkness that suffocates us to where all we can do is stretch out our hand until it feels like our flesh is ripping and let out whatever cry we can muster from our lips. J.Stubbs’ big brother is featured on this record, and he delivers a timeless and absolutely beautiful verse that seals the song with easy legendary markings. Our latest album is “END TIMES,“ featuring songs like “Closed Bibles“ and “Story of My Mother. With each album, we try to give more motivation and encouragement while also giving more of our personal struggles and testimonies so people out there know that healing is possible and Jesus saves and welcomes into His loving arms even the worst of us when we repent and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. CS TRIBE 319 is currently working on their Junior album “Revelation“.
What strategies have contributed to your success?
Staying away from making it about us and remembering to keep God at the head of every song, even if our verse is more personal and about something we went or are going through. We’re not flashy and try our best not to be worldly. We remember that we are in the world and must walk through the crowds and functions, but we must not be like the world and center every aspect of everything around Christ Jesus. It is so easy to fall into gloating and self-idolizing when you feel like you’ve made it through a bad situation or survived death’s grip. Our strategy of writing is incorporating real life and keeping it respectfully raw and vivid. We believe that keeps the fans wanting to hear more; they hear our heart, not just tight work instrumentals and good flow. To feel understood and not be judged at the end of it is a beautiful thing for anyone.
Any message for our readers?
We are not your typical Christian rap group. Sometimes, our lyrics are too obvious and clear, but that is the whole point. That situation or that stronghold you are suffering with may be the same ones that we suffered with, and the picture we paint on records can bring you inspiration and confidence in the Almighty. We understand that our job as Christians is to point you in the right direction, and we are well aware and believe that it is Jesus Who reels you in. We are just happy to be vessels.
How can people find out more about you?
LISTEN TO THE MUSIC. Stubbs and I have different personalities, but we sync so well when it comes to praise and giving God glory through rap. I can assure you that a lot of questions anyone has can be answered when you listen to our words. And also, of course, through our social media.
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish both of you all the best for your journey ahead!
