We had the privilege of interviewing the Music Artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Jashaun Delaney, also known as Emperor or formally as EmperorKing.
Please tell us about your Music.
I’ve been making rap music for about 8 years now and music in general for about 10-15 years. Return of the King, the most recent release, took about 1 year to conceptualize, write and record. Maybe a little longer
Please tell us about your journey.
As a broke kid coming from the streets of San Diego, or anywhere, I knew I had to be the best, I had to believe in myself more than anyone, and I had to prove it. Not to anyone else, no one had to believe it as much as myself; I was my own biggest critic, my own biggest obstacle, and my own greatest challenge. When I set out to start making waves, I had no money, no family support, and I was sleeping in my car trying to make ends meet. I would sleep on the floor or couch of my buddy’s rooms, where we would cook up beats and tracks for years before I touched my first stage. After I started though the was no stopping me and here we are now listening to another project by EmperorKing
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Progress ] Perfection (Just get out there and do it; the excellence comes out of the initial effort and plenty of revision.) More than anything it’s the grace of god and his mercy that allows me to make any kind of progress or have any kind of opportunity to make music. I pray I’m not wasting my time or energy and hope it resonates positively with someone! Anyone, even if it’s just myself 🙂
