The music scene is ever-evolving, and artists like SKRTS are at the forefront of this dynamic landscape. Since starting his musical journey in 2020, SKRTS has experienced a whirlwind of events that have shaped not only his music but also his outlook on life. His story is one of passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
A Bold Beginning and Unforeseen Challenges
When SKRTS decided to drop out of school to pursue music, it was a leap of faith that many might shy away from. He poured his heart into creating his first album, a project that marked the beginning of his professional career. The excitement was palpable as he sold out a venue for his debut performance, signaling a promising start.
However, life had other plans. Just as everything was coming together, SKRTS contracted COVID-19, forcing him to cancel the much-anticipated show. It was a significant setback that could have derailed his momentum. Instead of letting this hurdle define him, he chose to take a step back, reassess, and focus on his well-being.
Returning Stronger with “RESTORED“
After a period of reflection, SKRTS made a powerful comeback with his latest single, “RESTORED.” Released recently, the song serves as an introduction to his upcoming second album, set to drop in 2025. SKRTS describes “RESTORED” as his favorite piece of work to date, and it’s easy to see why.
The track delves into themes of self-improvement and moving forward from past struggles. It’s a candid exploration of his journey towards becoming the best version of himself, both as an artist and as an individual. The lyrics convey a sense of determination and a desire to overcome obstacles, resonating with anyone who has faced challenges in their own life.
In addition to the single, SKRTS ventured into new territory by creating his first music video for “RESTORED.” The process was a learning experience, filled with creative exploration and personal growth. Fans can look forward to the video’s release in a few weeks, adding a visual narrative to his already compelling music.
The Evolution Continues with “SERAPHINA II”
This year marked another significant chapter in SKRTS’s career. Following a difficult breakup, he channeled his emotions into starting his second album, “SERAPHINA II.” This project is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a continuation of a story that began with his first album.
At the heart of this narrative is the character Seraphina, a persona SKRTS created to embody the complexities and challenges of his past relationships. She represents every conflicting quality and clash he’s experienced, allowing him to process his feelings through his music. By exploring Seraphina’s character, SKRTS offers listeners a deep and relatable insight into his personal life.
“I’m happy to continue exploring that character in the second album,” he shares. “Seraphina encapsulates everything that’s gone wrong in my relationships, and through her, I can express and understand those experiences.”
Looking Ahead: Embracing Growth and New Beginnings
SKRTS’s journey is a testament to resilience and the power of self-belief. His ability to turn setbacks into opportunities for growth is inspiring. As he moves forward, he’s more committed than ever to his craft, eager to share his evolving sound and stories with the world.
For those interested in following his journey, SKRTS’s music is available on Spotify and Apple Music. With the upcoming release of the “RESTORED” music video and the anticipation building for “SERAPHINA II,” there’s no better time to become a part of his growing community of supporters.
SKRTS’s story reminds us that life’s challenges don’t have to hold us back. Instead, they can be the very catalysts that propel us forward. His music not only entertains but also encourages listeners to reflect on their own journeys toward self-improvement.
As he aptly puts it in “RESTORED,” it’s about pushing to become the best version of oneself. And with his talent and determination, SKRTS is well on his way to doing just that.
We had the privilege of interviewing SKRTS. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Hi, Thank you for joining us today. Please introduce yourself and share your musical journey.
Hi, my name is SKRTS. I started making music in 2020 and it’s been a wild ride. I dropped out of school and made an album. Then I sold out a venue, but I had to cancel the show since I got COVID. Then I took a break, and now I’m back better than ever. My second album is coming out in 2025, and I just came out with my first single off that album about a week ago.
Please tell us your music story.
My musical journey started in high school. I always liked to sing, and I got made fun of for it frequently. I put a few songs on SoundCloud and got bullied for it. After I graduated high school in 2020, I went to school to study film. However, the classes didn’t interest me so on the side I started recording music. I eventually decided to drop out and do music instead of school. I dropped out and recorded my first album, SERAPHINA: PART I, in 2021, releasing it in 2022.
Following that album, my depression got bad again and I stopped recording music. I lost a lot of my fans in the process, and I’m sorry to them if it felt like I abandoned them. This year, following a failed relationship, I decided to start a second album, which I’m currently working on, titled SERAPHINA II.
It’s meant to be a continuation of the first album. The character of Seraphina is one I made up to kind of encapsulate everything that’s gone wrong with all of my relationships into one person. Every quality that clashes with mine is written into this character, and I’m happy to get to continue exploring that character in the second album.
Please tell us about your latest single, RESTORED.
My latest single is a song called RESTORED. I love it. It’s my favorite song I’ve written to date. It’s kind of an intro into my second album that I’ll be releasing next year. It’s about moving on from my past and pushing to become the best version of myself as an artist and an individual that I can be. It also has the first music video I’ve ever created, which was a journey. That video will be coming out in a few weeks.
What strategies contributed to your success?
I think the biggest part of success is being yourself. When I write music, I try my best to speak on what has been affecting me mentally. I’m a big people person, so when I perform, I’m overjoyed and I really show that on stage since all I want to do is entertain and put on the best show possible. As a side note, strobe lights are cool as hell.
Any special message for our readers?
Definitely go out and stream my new song, RESTORED. Also, go make something cool, man. Follow your dreams and don’t do what everyone tells you to do.
How can people find out more about you?
I go by the name of SKRTS on every music platform.
Thank you so much, SKRTS, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
