Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, my journey has been hard. I have worked with artists that I could trust, so working with Destini was an amazing experience. My interest in music was developed at an early age when I was encouraged by my sister to sing in the church choir. I enjoyed singing, but I was discouraged by a family member. I love making music, and writing is easy for me, so this song was a passion project. I am always hard on myself when it comes to music, and “If I” was different; I could see the song from beginning to end. Collaborating with Destini was a pleasure because I could laugh and be myself in the studio with her.
Please tell us about your music.
So many times in relationships, we never really ask the questions that we want to ask when we have been treated wrong or cheated on. ‘If I’ by Mo’Unique ft Destini is a passionate and smooth pop/rnb song that asks those questions that some may be afraid to ask, and it’s relatable. This song is for anyone who didn’t receive the closure they were looking for or for those who feel like they are stuck in a TOXIC relationship. ‘If I ‘is not only relatable to women because ‘If I’ is the next generation of music -IT’S ART.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I am very hard on myself when it comes to music. I write every day and practice as much as I can. I am not looking to be an overnight success. I am looking to be someone that lasts like the greats Nas, Lil Wayne, and Jay -z. So to be like them, I have to work as hard, if not harder than them, to get to their levels.
