Music Artist Giveuppulp is crafting a sonic landscape of emotion and authenticity through the recent release ‘COVEN’

We had the pleasure of interviewing Giveuppulp, a young producer/artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They produce a plethora of sounds, focusing heavily on lo-fi hip-hop, experimental rap, unique production, and distinctive lyricism.

Their music primarily centers around themes like mental health, drug use, and violence while incorporating film and art-related concepts into the work. Their most recent release, “COVEN,” is a dark, aggressive, fast-paced, and hard-hitting track produced by longtime collaborator candy cigarettes. Their next single release is slated for June 30, 2023.

Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.

Hey, I’m Pulp. I’m an artist and producer. I’ve been creating music for years – it has its ups and downs, but I just really love art. I’ve been working on improving my health and my craft.

Can you please tell us more about your journey?

Yeah, it’s been a bit of a rough one. I’ve been struggling with mental health for a long time, but through these issues, I’ve made a lot of music that I don’t think I could have otherwise. I’ve been staying busy creating music daily, planning out future releases, and watching movies.

Please share with our readers about your recent release, “COVEN.

I was having a late studio session with my manager, and I wanted to make an aggressive track with a verse I had written earlier. I made the beat around a synth sample to about the bpm of the written. I laid down the vocals, and during mixing, I wanted to add a hook. I took a line from the end of the verse, chopped it up, and it sounded surprisingly good. The song is about issues I’ve been dealing with recently – it’s essentially just venting.
