The Band’s Musical Journey and Influences
Sebastian and Jaggar Jellots, the brother duo behind 5thSZN, have been avid music lovers since childhood. Growing up, they attended concerts by legendary bands such as Motley Crue, KISS, and the Jonas Brothers, which fueled their passion for music. However, it was their teenage discovery of blink-182 that inspired them to start writing songs and making music themselves.
The pandemic in 2020 was a pivotal time for the brothers. The release of new music by artists like Machine Gun Kelly and All Time Low deeply influenced them, prompting them to finally piece together the music they had been writing for years. This period of creativity and exploration laid the foundation for what would become 5thSZN.
The Addition of James Murray (JDSZNN)
A significant milestone in 5thSZN’s journey was meeting their talented drummer, James Murray, known by his stage name JDSZNN. James’s versatility and skills have been a tremendous asset to the band, especially during live performances. His dynamic drumming adds a new dimension to 5thSZN’s music, bringing their songs to life in ways that resonate deeply with their audience.
Creating ‘Glorified‘
The process of creating ‘Glorified‘ was both challenging and rewarding for 5thSZN. Each song went through rigorous development to ensure it met the band’s high standards. The brothers’ synergy, combined with James’s drumming prowess, resulted in an album that is both cohesive and varied.
“karma,” in particular, stands out as a track that embodies the band’s perseverance and artistic vision. The song’s evolution from its initial concept to the polished final version reflects 5thSZN’s commitment to their music and their willingness to experiment and refine their sound.
Looking Ahead
With ‘Glorified‘ now available on major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, 5thSZN is excited to share their latest work with the world. The band is eager to see how fans respond to the new album and looks forward to performing these songs live.

We had the privilege of interviewing band members of 5thSZN. Here are a few excerpts from the interview.
Hi, It’s great to have you with us today! Please share about your latest album with our readers.
Hi, we’re 5thSZN from Pittsburgh, PA. Our latest album, Glorified, was released on June 28th. In preparation for this record, we released singles “i think i hate this“, “last forever,” & “hit it off“. Our band favorite on the record would have to be the song, “karma.” It’s a song we’ve been holding onto for years and has gone through so many different versions to get to the final copy on the record.
Please tell us about your journey.
We’re two brothers who have been huge fans of music throughout our entire lives, going to concerts ever since we were little kids and seeing bands like Motley Crue, KISS, & the Jonas Brothers; we’ve always had a strong passion for music. When we got into our teenage years, our favorite band of all time, blink-182, was what really inspired us to start writing songs and making music. Over the course of the pandemic in 2020, artists such as Machine Gun Kelly & All Time Low released new music that was very influential to us, and resulted in us finally starting to piece together the music we’d been writing for years. Along the way, we met our very talented drummer, James Murray (or JDSZNN), who is legitimately a jack of all trades. He has been a huge asset to our live performances, which adds a whole new life to the songs.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Some strategies we take along the way is to always be patient, this isn’t gonna take off overnight it’s very unrealistic. Also, you have to be consistent. Another key thing we learned is to never take yourself so seriously. If you treat music like work then it will feel like work, it’s supposed to be fun.
Any message for our readers?
Our message for anyone reading is: If you’re interested in making music, go ahead and take the jump. People are going to make fun of you and say stuff, but just remember you have more passion and character in your pinky than those shallow idiots who try to bring you down. You never know if you don’t try.
Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?
You can follow us on Instagram @5thSZNMusic & you can stream Glorified by 5thSZN on all platforms.
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
