Hi, It’s great to have you with us today! Please share about yourself with our readers.
Hi, I am Aryan (XE in my name stands for Xtreme on Edge), a Canadian American independent artist who writes and performs emotional, melodic pop and R&B music. I focus on creating songs that center around love, connection, and the deeper side of human emotion. Alongside music, I work full-time as a cybersecurity professional and also have a background as an aircraft engineer. While my day job keeps me grounded in the technical world, music has always been my creative outlet and a lifelong passion.
Please tell us about your journey.
I was born in a small city in Scranton, Pennsylvania. My mother always dreamed of me becoming a singer, so she enrolled me in music school when I was six years old. I started singing as a kid and took part in local music competitions for children, including contests hosted by TV and radio stations. In high school, I started a boy band called Boyz XE with a few close friends. We performed rock covers from bands like Linkin Park and Guns N’ Roses, along with pop songs and our own original tracks. We sang at school exhibitions, contests, and local venues, and I was the lead vocalist. After graduation, the band members moved on to different colleges and cities, and the group naturally came to an end. But my passion for music never did.
Even as I focused on building my professional career, I continued to write songs and create music at home. In 2024, I wrote a song called Forever You and I for my girlfriend and surprised her by recording and mastering it myself. She loved the song so much that she encouraged me to release it. I uploaded it to YouTube and distributed it through DistroKid without any big expectations. To my surprise, people started listening and connecting with the track. That moment changed everything for me.
It reignited my passion and pushed me to write and produce more songs in my spare time. Since then, I have released two full albums with a total of sixteen songs. As of now, my music has received over eight hundred thousand streams on Spotify and continues to grow. That support from listeners means everything to me and keeps me motivated to keep going.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey
Staying consistent, being authentic, and doing everything from the heart. I never set out to become popular. I just wanted to tell stories that mattered to me and create music that felt real. I believe that when you are honest in your art, people can feel it. I also make the most of my time. As someone who works full-time outside of music, I have to be intentional about how I use my free hours. Whether it is songwriting, producing, or promoting, I try to stay focused and driven.
Another important strategy has been learning to do things independently. From mixing and mastering to releasing music on platforms and designing visuals, I taught myself a lot along the way. That gave me the freedom to move at my own pace and develop my sound in an organic way. And most importantly, I listen to my fans. Every stream, every comment, and every message reminds me why I started. Their support is a big part of why I have made it this far.
