Catchy Songs, Curious Stories

The Shellies are a UK-based collective of four singing songwriters. Their music draws on personal journeys, everyday observations and imagined corners of Here n There, a playful setting that gives their work its own identity. Close group vocals, memorable melodies and a handmade spirit sit at the heart of their sound.
Among the group’s recent singles are “Create Away,” “Sally Custard,” “A Little Bit of Fun,” “My Life Reprise” and “Life’s a Circus.” Each offers another glimpse of the band’s colourful outlook, with themes of happiness, hope, curiosity and creative expression. “A Bit Like” explores kindness and emotional discovery, showing how the Shellies find room for thoughtful ideas within their playful musical world.

The group records at Dandelion Pie Studios, its home-built studio. The setting supports the band’s independent, collaborative approach and gives the songwriters space to shape their ideas. Their music is available on major streaming services, giving audiences an easy route into the catalogue and its imaginative world.
Creative Possibilities for Stages and Screens
The Shellies’ project extends beyond recorded music. The group works with musicians, producers, animators and visual artists, bringing songs into a wider creative universe of illustrations, zines, cartoons, videos and stories. A lyric may inspire a character or scene; a visual idea can spark a new song. This cross-disciplinary approach opens natural possibilities for shared projects.

- For press: The band offers story angles around independent music-making, a home-built studio, songwriting and visual storytelling, as well as a growing audience and a distinctive creative identity.
- For promoters: The close vocals and upbeat songs can suit intimate stages, community programmes and family-friendly events. The group’s visual world can also inspire event themes and audience activities.
- For broadcasters and producers: Original songs and visual material offer creative starting points for interviews, features and potential work connected to film, theatre or art.
- For collaborators: The Shellies welcome the exchange of ideas across music, animation, illustration, zines and storytelling, making space for artists and creative partners to build something together.
Beyond individual bookings or placements, the band’s catalogue and visual materials give partners a starting point for themed programmes, youth arts activities or projects built around creativity. Their family-friendly tone can help a project reach different age groups while keeping an identifiable musical centre.
The group’s warm, optimistic outlook provides a clear thread across these formats. Happiness, imagination and a can-do attitude shape the material, while the band’s catalogue leaves room for new themes and collaborations. Their music can be enjoyed on its own or become part of a larger creative experience.
