Guest Pass Vol. 1 arrives as a warm invitation into a shared creative space. Built around connection and curiosity, the EP brings together musicians from different backgrounds who step into familiar compositions and reshape them with fresh voices. It feels personal, open, and intentionally crafted for listeners who enjoy hearing music evolve through collaboration.
The Concept Behind Guest Pass Vol. 1
Guest Pass Vol. 1 is a collaborative EP centered on alternate editions of previously released tracks, each revisited through the lens of a guest musician. Rather than reinventing the core compositions, the project allows new textures, tones, and personalities to naturally reshape the music. Every track feels like a conversation, where Nate Franchesco sets the foundation and the featured artist responds in their own musical language.
The EP highlights genre diversity without forcing it. Jazz scat vocals glide into swing, violin lines add cinematic flair, and brass instruments inject character and movement. Each collaboration feels intentional, chosen for how the guest artist complements the song’s emotional direction. The result is a concise yet expressive release that showcases musicianship and creative trust.
Designed as the first chapter in an ongoing series, Guest Pass establishes a format that can grow over time. Future volumes will continue to welcome new guest artists, reinforcing the idea that music thrives when it remains open to interpretation and shared expression.
Meet the Guest Musicians and Their Contributions
Each track on Guest Pass Vol. 1 stands out through the unique presence of its collaborator. On Tightrope Swing (Jazz Vocal Scat Edition), Srbuhí Hovhannisyan, known for her appearance on The Voice Armenia, brings fluid jazz scat vocals that dance effortlessly across the rhythm. Her performance adds playful elegance while keeping the track light and spontaneous.
55’ Hot Rod (Violin Edition) features Oleg Bezuglov on violin, introducing a melodic edge that feels both expressive and cinematic. The violin lines elevate the track’s motion and give it a refined intensity. West Coast Dollaz (Vocal And Rymes Edition) welcomes Benji, whose vocals add personality and attitude, grounding the track with a confident, modern energy.
Bossa Lounge ’67 (Flute Edition) showcases Gina Sobel on flute, adding warmth and breezy sophistication. Her phrasing fits naturally within the bossa-inspired groove, enhancing its relaxed atmosphere. On Feel Like Making Love (Sax Edition), Ivan Rodriguez delivers smooth saxophone lines that bring soul and depth, allowing the track to breathe and unfold with emotional clarity. Closing the EP, Domador De Toros (Trumpet Edition) features Joaquin Muro on trumpet, injecting bold character and flair into a compact yet vibrant piece.

We had the privilege of interviewing the Music Artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Nate Franchesco. I’m a multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, composer, and producer known for working across a wide range of musical styles — from jazz, fusion, bossa nova, and smooth jazz to rock, blues, and heavier guitar-driven music. I record, perform, teach, and release original music independently, and I’m also the creator of the Genre Assassin concept, which reflects my focus on stylistic fluency rather than staying in one lane.
Please tell us about your journey.
I’ve been playing music for decades, and my journey has been very organic — built through years of practice, curiosity, and learning different styles at a deep level rather than chasing trends. Over time, I realized that versatility and musical judgment were more important to me than fitting into one category. That led me to focus on becoming fluent across genres and instruments, recording my own projects, collaborating with other musicians, and eventually building a public presence around that philosophy. Everything I do now is an extension of that long-term commitment to musicianship.
Please tell us about your music.
My music is genre-bending by design. I don’t approach songs as “this has to be jazz” or “this has to be rock.” I approach them as compositions first — then choose the style, tone, and feel that best serve the piece. That approach has led to releases that range from smooth jazz and bossa lounge tracks to high-energy fusion and guitar-driven material. Collaboration is also a big part of my work, which is reflected in projects like Guest Pass Vol. 1.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Consistency, discipline, and independence. Instead of waiting for permission or validation, I focused on building skills, releasing music regularly, collaborating with other artists, and documenting the journey through interviews, performances, and content. I’ve also been very intentional about not limiting myself stylistically. Learning why different genres work — not just how to play fast or loud — has been one of the biggest advantages in my career.
Any message for our readers?
Don’t rush the process and don’t box yourself in. Depth, taste, and identity take time to develop, but they last much longer than trends. Whether you’re a musician or a creative in any field, focus on building real skill and staying curious — the rest follows.
Thank you so much, Nate, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
