Sean Trea expands his imaginative musical universe with the fleece rabbit, a 15-song album filled with romance, spiritual imagery, vulnerability, and surreal adventure. Released on September 24, 2026, the 48-minute project presents another ambitious chapter in the Dallas artist’s evolving story.
A Colorful Journey Through WONDERNESS
the fleece rabbit is Sean Trea’s third solo album and the fifth installment in his ongoing “a sinner is a caterpillar” saga. Its narrative begins shortly after the events of MARTYR MiNiCRY, an album released by his collective, CATERPILLARChildren. Sean finds himself wandering through a wilderness that feels unusually alive.
This setting is far from empty or gloomy. Animals, plants, monuments, and intense colors fill the landscape, creating an environment that feels like a dream rendered through anime, fantasy games, and psychedelic animation. Sean humorously describes its appearance as though a pack of Skittles erupted across everything.

Hidden within that visual wildfire is a princess. She and Sean gradually find comfort in each other as they explore the land of WONDERNESS. Their developing connection gives the album an emotional center, allowing its fantasy setting to carry recognizable feelings involving affection, trust, uncertainty, and commitment.
The pair eventually meet Corinth the Rabbit, a mysterious guide who leads them toward MOUNT OLIVES. According to the story, the NEW WORLD that Sean has been searching for may be concealed there. This quest gives the record a cinematic structure, with each track functioning like a scene, emotional revelation, or step toward an uncertain destination.
Romance, Conviction, and Human Emotion
Across its 15 explicit tracks, the fleece rabbit explores romance, pregnancy, perseverance, sensuality, and the responsibilities attached to love. Some moments approach desire with subtlety, while others use direct and explicit language. The album’s emotional scope remains broad, moving through tenderness, anxiety, temptation, devotion, and personal resolve.
The opening track, “bunnyhop,” introduces the project through an expansive performance lasting nearly five minutes. Songs such as “fragments of the third,” “heavy heart,” and “panic space” suggest emotional instability and internal pressure. “losing our patience” captures urgency in a compact form, while “human conviction,” featuring itried2tellem, turns attention toward belief, choice, and endurance.

Religious language continues throughout titles such as “sinner under the sun,” “deus, maximus,” and “original sin,” the latter featuring mysoultru. These references reflect Sean’s long-standing interest in using sacred imagery and spiritual concepts as storytelling tools. They sit naturally beside romantic titles including “disney romance irl” and “beauty in the madness,” featuring ayrjordan.
The final stretch grows larger and more dramatic. “pandemonium” runs for more than four minutes before “fleece,” featuring monde, closes the album with its longest collaboration. Together, these songs create a substantial finale that leaves the saga open for another transformation.
A Storyteller Shaped by Music, Film, and Games
Sean’s creative instincts began developing years before he became a recording artist. As a child, he produced gaming videos, vlogs, and stories made with plush toys. Those homemade productions gave him an early outlet for directing characters, building worlds, and turning simple objects into cinematic personalities.
He began making music around age 13 or 14, inspired by the peak SoundCloud era and artists such as Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, and YNW Melly. Younger performers also encouraged him to pick up a microphone. The transition from YouTube storytelling to music brought a difficult period marked by depression and reduced imagination, yet creativity eventually became his way forward.

Anime, video games, religious texts, and film now shape his artistic language. Influences include Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Gurren Lagann, and the Bible. That unusual combination helps explain why his music can feel spiritual, futuristic, intimate, and theatrical within the same project.

We had the privilege of interviewing the artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Sean Trea, Trea is pronounced like Trey, the a’s basically silent. Some might know me as SKINNY J, TREAVON, HYBRID… TreyX for any OG fans… But Sean or Trea suffices nicely, though. I’m many things, but I’m mainly a music and film artist, with a knack for creative storytelling using religious contexts, spiritual concepts, and A LOT of inspiration from anime and video games like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy… Gurren Lagann. Can’t forget the Bible, one of the best anime out here.
Please tell us about your story/journey.
I started doing music when I was about 13 or 14, during the summer of my 7th grade year. This was when guys like Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, YNW Melly… Essentially like peak SoundCloud for me. Before I even picked up a mic, I was a YouTuber. I made gaming videos, IRL videos (Vlogs), but I mainly specialized in making Plush videos, which, if you don’t know, is where you take ya toys and grab a camera and just make movies with ’em. I was doing that from like 9 or 10 years old all the way up to 13, I think. I stopped really doing those kinds of videos because I was getting older, y’know? I started focusing more on teenage things, and playing with toys wasn’t really on my “to-do list” anymore. Once I kinda made that transition from YouTube to music, it was hard. I got really depressed during that transitional moment in my life. My imagination was super low; I wasn’t really storytelling like that… I kinda felt like I lost my Nen, on some Hunter X Hunter shit. Funny enough, I really decided to pick up a microphone when I saw dudes around my age making pretty catchy music, like Melly’s younger brother, YNW BSlime. Even dudes a little older than me, like Tootie Raww and Lil Blurry… Granted, I don’t listen to any of those guys anymore, but without their music, I can’t really say if I’d be doing this whole music thing.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Honestly, just dropping music. I’m never really on hiatus for too long, but when I am, I’m usually behind the scenes working on something music- or film-related. Connections are also a big thing as well, keeping close tabs with collaborators and just keeping your energy entangled with your craft.
