Some musical projects arrive with a clear sense of purpose from the very beginning. Others evolve over time before revealing their identity. For Jobbo and SLIMFLO, Origin represents both a creative milestone and the foundation of a much larger journey.
As the first release on their newly established label, We Don’t Speak, the EP offers listeners an invitation into a musical world where emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling guide every sound.
A Label Built Around Emotion and Artistic Freedom
We Don’t Speak was born as a natural extension of the artistic vision shared by Jobbo and SLIMFLO. Rather than creating a label centered on commercial formulas, the duo chose to establish a platform that reflects the music they genuinely believe in. Their philosophy is simple yet meaningful. When music reaches a certain emotional depth, words lose their importance.
That idea serves as the foundation of Origin. Every element of the project reflects an organic creative process where textures, melodies, and carefully crafted atmospheres communicate feelings that language often struggles to express. The release marks the opening chapter of a story the artists hope listeners will experience from its very beginning.
Launching a label carries its own excitement, and both artists embrace that sense of discovery. They hope audiences feel connected to something new while witnessing its earliest moments. Supporting a project from day one creates a different kind of relationship between artists and listeners, one built on shared growth and evolving creativity. Years from now, they envision fans looking back with pride and remembering that they were present when We Don’t Speak first introduced its sound to the world.
Creativity Across Borders Shapes the Sound of Origin
Although Jobbo and SLIMFLO share a unified artistic vision, their collaboration spans two different countries. Jobbo creates from Colombia, while SLIMFLO works from Panama. The geographical distance presented practical challenges throughout the songwriting and production process, yet it also became one of the defining strengths behind the EP.
Technology kept both artists connected throughout development, although inspiration naturally arrived at different moments. Some days, one artist would feel deeply immersed in creativity while the other focused on everyday responsibilities. Rather than forcing productivity, they learned to respect those natural rhythms.

One producer might spend hours building a groove, exploring melodies, or developing an arrangement before handing the project to the other. Fresh ears often revealed new possibilities, allowing every composition to evolve through different emotional perspectives. This gradual exchange encouraged patience and trust while giving each track additional depth.
The distance between Panama and Colombia eventually became part of the creative identity of Origin. Each stage of production reflected different moods, experiences, and influences gathered from separate environments. Together, those contributions created a body of work that feels authentic, balanced, and emotionally layered.
The result is music shaped by collaboration rather than compromise. Every track reflects two creative voices working toward a common destination while allowing space for individual expression throughout the process.

Two Distinct Musical Journeys Converge Into One Vision
Both artists bring extensive experience to We Don’t Speak, although their individual paths developed in unique ways.
SLIMFLO, a Swiss-born DJ and producer now based in Panama, built his musical identity through Deep House, Melodic House, and Progressive House. His early inspiration came from Europe’s vibrant rave culture during the 1990s, including experiences at Zurich’s famous Street Parade and underground warehouse events. After relocating to Panama in 2013, he became an active contributor to the regional electronic music community through events, collaborations, and international performances.
His career has included appearances alongside respected artists including Lee Burridge, Carl Craig, Lee Foss, Animal Trainer, Roy Rosenfeld, Magdalena, M.A.N.D.Y., Echonomist, Sahar Z, and many others. Recent years have brought significant momentum through acclaimed releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Hive Audio, Cafe de Anatolia, and MIR Music, along with Beatport chart success and the launch of his audiovisual project, TERRA MUTA.
Jobbo enters this new chapter after more than seventeen years dedicated to music production and artistic growth. Throughout his career, his work has received support from globally recognized electronic music figures including Tale Of Us, ARTBAT, Adriatique, Kevin de Vries, and Massano. His current direction reflects a more personal artistic identity that blends Afro Melodic House, organic instrumentation, and Indie influences into emotionally driven productions.
Together, these complementary experiences provide the creative foundation behind We Don’t Speak. Their label represents artistic freedom, honest expression, and a commitment to building meaningful musical experiences that resonate beyond trends.

About Artists
Jobbo and SLIMFLO are the founders of We Don’t Speak, an independent electronic music label dedicated to organic sound design, emotional storytelling, and immersive musical experiences. Based in Colombia and Panama respectively, they combine years of international performance, production, and creative exploration into a shared vision that celebrates artistic authenticity. Their debut EP, Origin, introduces the label’s philosophy while marking the beginning of an ambitious collaborative journey.

Looking Ahead
Origin serves as more than a debut release. It establishes the identity of We Don’t Speak and offers a glimpse into the creative future envisioned by Jobbo and SLIMFLO. Through thoughtful production, genuine collaboration, and a belief that music can communicate beyond language, they have created an opening chapter designed to grow alongside its audience. For listeners discovering the project today, this is an opportunity to become part of a story from its very first note.
We had the privilege of interviewing SLIMFLO. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Hi, Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Flo, although most people know me as Slimflo. I’m a DJ, producer, and co-founder of We Don’t Speak. At its core, what I do is quite simple: I collect emotions, experiences, and influences through life, and I try to translate them into music. Whether it’s through a DJ set, a track, or a release on the label, my goal has always been to create moments of connection.
Please share your journey with our readers.
Music has never been something I chose. It has always been there. Long before I thought about producing music or playing in clubs, I was fascinated by how certain records could completely change the atmosphere of a room or transport you back to a specific moment in your life. I became obsessed with discovering music, understanding it, and sharing it with others.
Like many people, I built a life outside of music. There were careers, responsibilities, family commitments, and all the realities that come with adulthood. But music remained the constant thread running through everything. No matter where life took me, I always came back to it.
Looking back, I realize that my journey has been less about pursuing a career and more about following a feeling. A feeling that there was something meaningful in creating, connecting, and sharing experiences through sound.
The creation of We Don’t Speak feels like the most honest expression of that idea. The label wasn’t born from a market opportunity or a business plan. It came from conversations between friends -Jobbo & myself- from a shared passion for underground music, and from the desire to create a home for music we genuinely believe in.
Our first release, Origin, is symbolic for that reason. It represents a beginning, but also everything that came before it: years of listening, learning, traveling, meeting people, making mistakes, growing, and slowly finding a voice.
What has guided you throughout your journey?
Curiosity more than anything else. I’ve never wanted music to become a formula. The excitement has always come from discovering something new: a record, an artist, a city, a culture, or even a different perspective on sound.
Patience has also been important. We live in a time where everything feels accelerated, but some things cannot be rushed. Musical identity, meaningful relationships, and lasting projects all take time to develop.
Most importantly, I’ve learned to trust my instincts. Not every decision will be right, but the moments I’m proudest of are the ones where I followed my intuition rather than expectations.
Any message for our readers?
I think we’re all searching for connection in one way or another. Music has taught me that some of the most meaningful moments in life are often the simplest ones: hearing a track at exactly the right time, sharing a dancefloor with strangers, discovering an artist that speaks to you, or feeling understood without a single word being exchanged.
If there’s one thing I hope people take from my music and from We Don’t Speak, it’s a sense of authenticity. We are not trying to chase trends or create noise. We simply want to share music that feels honest to us and invite others to be part of the journey.
To everyone who supports independent artists, independent labels, and underground culture: thank you. These communities exist because people continue to believe in them.
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
