Podcast Producer Dae’Won talks about his journey to create the podcast BluntedTopics

Today, we are interviewing Dae’Won and 26 years old from Philly, he is the founder of #BluntedTopics Podcast!

Please tell us something about yourself.

Living in Atlanta, living the dream ya know! Just trying to find my place in the world

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

My Podcast really has been in the works for about a year and a half now. However, once my mother passed away, it kinda pushed me to follow dreams since life is so uncertain, especially in these times.

Who are your role models?

Role models definitely included my mother, she was strong, and sweet the perfect balance, my older sister, she does what she wants and has always been good at everything she’s tried! And my Bestfriend, I love you, shawty. ????

What inspires you?

So much inspires me, but I can honestly say every time I hear a bomb beat or encounter a fantastic person, it makes me glad to be on this earth. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else doing anything different!

Please tell us about your Podcast.

Our mission is to have the uncommon conversation. As a black male coming up in such a racially charged place, I feel that we, as a people, have an experience that we can learn from as a whole!
Many different perspectives are showcased on my show, and even though this is a racially conscious show, it is for all races, genders, and walks of life.

What’s your most memorable experience?

My most memorable moment was definitely moving from Philly to GA. I realized that I was moving away from my security and everything I had known… one of the most humbling experiences so far.

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

The channels that have worked best for me in regards to promoting content have been Instagram, as well as twitter. Those platforms are enormous and have the most daily activity on average. On social media, I try to keep fresh new content and just being super engaging with my followers.

What’s your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is dying without leaving a legacy… something that will stand the test of time after I am long gone.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

Looking back, I really wish I understood the importance of following your dreams!
I could have already been great places, but I’d like to think then was not my time, now it is!

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Strategies I’ve used in helping become successful are definitely positive reinforcements, I tell myself every day I am successful; therefore, I am!
Also, I have a reliable team that not only tells me how dope I am always but also lets me know when I need to tighten up or focus. People need people that is a significant fact. ????

What keeps you going when things get tough?

My mother’s voice saying, “you got this son mommy loves you much.”
Miss her every day, but I know she kept me here for a higher purpose.

Any message for our readers.

Hey guys, I just want to say if there is something you want to do, do it! Depending on how bad you want results from what you do determines how much effort you put into it… I encourage everyone to live love and learn as much as possible. The next moment isn’t promised to fill every last one with passion!
And love on your mothers, it’s SUPER important.

How can people connect with you?

I am on YouTube as well as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
