Hello! I’m a serial tech entrepreneur turned novelist. I’ve spent years at the forefront of education technology, building and selling three successful companies. Now, I’ve channeled my passion for innovation and storytelling into writing. My debut novel, ‘Unlocked‘, is where my tech background and imagination collide, exploring the thrilling and terrifying potential of human enhancement.
Please tell us about your book ‘Unlocked‘.
‘Unlocked‘ is a techno-thriller that pushes the boundaries of what we think is possible. It follows Dr. Natalia Accorsi, a brilliant scientist who discovers a way to unlock hidden abilities within human DNA. This breakthrough promises to revolutionize humanity, but it also attracts dangerous attention. As Natalia races to harness this power for good, she’s caught in a web of scientific ethics, global politics, and personal betrayal. Please tell us about your journey.
My journey to writing ‘Unlocked‘ was anything but conventional. I spent years in the tech world, always with an eye on emerging technologies and their potential impact. The idea for ‘Unlocked‘ came from a fascination with human potential and the rapid advancements in fields like genetics and neuroscience. I found myself asking ‘what if?’ questions that eventually formed the backbone of the novel. Writing it was a leap of faith – moving from the structured world of tech entrepreneurship to the creative realm of fiction. But I found that my background gave me a unique perspective on how breakthrough technologies could reshape our world. It’s been an exhilarating journey, blending my tech knowledge with my love for storytelling.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
First and foremost, curiosity has been my driving force. I’ve always been eager to learn, whether it’s about new technologies or the craft of writing. This curiosity led me to extensively research the scientific concepts in ‘Unlocked’, making the story feel grounded and plausible.
Secondly, discipline. Writing a novel while managing other commitments requires strict self-discipline. I treated writing like any other important project, setting daily goals and sticking to them.
