Hi, Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
I’m Jeremy Clift, a science fiction author, former journalist, and book publisher, based in Virginia.
A former non-fiction Publisher, I am a communications consultant and writing coach. I’m a graduate of the London School of Economics and the George Washington University, and I’ve lived in a variety of major cities around the world as a Reuters correspondent.
Please tell us about your books.
My inaugural novel, Born in Space, delved into the life of Teagan Ward, a teenager who, after donating her eggs aboard a rotating space habitat, becomes entangled in a battle over seven artificially conceived infants. The story explores themes of motherhood, identity, and humanity’s expansion into space. The just published sequel, Space Vault: The Seed Eclipse, continues this narrative, focusing on corporate dominance, the ethical implications of space colonization, and the future of human freedom.
“Space Vault: The Seed Eclipse” is the second part of my Sci-fi Galaxy series about the colonization of space through habitats and the exploitation of celestial bodies, including asteroids and the moon.

My career began in journalism, reporting for Reuters and later serving as a non-fiction publisher at an international organization. Over time, I transitioned into fiction writing, channeling my experiences and interests into speculative narratives about space and humanity’s future. A fan of Adrian Tchaikovsky, Mary Robinette Kowal, Cixin Liu, and Andy Weir, I am keenly interested in how space exploration and artificial intelligence will change humanity over the next 200 years.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Attending writers’ conferences like 20BooksTo50K provided invaluable insights into self-publishing and the importance of writing a series. Additionally, my background in journalism honed my research skills, allowing me to build believable and compelling sci-fi worlds.
