Hi Shaun, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about yourself.
Hello, I am a lifelong technology fan. This has been true ever since I first saw and played with 8-bit computers. Owning one and learning to program them was fun and exciting. Later in life, I started a prominent career writing software and administering systems.
I moved across the pond to America (from Europe) and continued this lifelong passion. As technology advanced and became diverse, so did I, and I keep abreast of technologies that people struggle with. Learning how to help these people lead to my own business. This business has recently expanded to my blog, so I can extend the reach of my expertise and knowledge further across to the whole world as an audience.
Please tell us about your blog, Thetechhamster.
Thetechhamster is my blog, and technology and security is my theme. I have worked in the security arena for large organizations and many consumers over the years. Having a massive understanding of what happens in this area enables me to guide my customers on the right path.
Security is a turnkey solution from computers, networks, routers, protecting traffic and everything in-between. Everyone has computing devices of some sort, but they do not understand how things actually work.
This is where I come in taking the know-how away from people performing their everyday tasks and enabling them to do so in a safe manner. This is my mission and the objective of my blog.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The strategies that have helped me be successful are my background and experience, which play the most important role in my approach. The ability to keep up with technological advances such as IoT or the Internet of Things and how to include these as simple yet effective actors in my solutions.
Cost is a large factor, and many cost-effective solutions will work and save people money.
My first years were spent working in the UNIX arena, and when Linux became popular, my solutions included these as well. Many so-called computer experts only know how to work in the Windows world, so they are missing out on invaluable experiences in all walks of technology and options.
