From Perdu the Monkey to Fishta and the Stranger: Tattiana Kifile Sparks Joy in Young Readers Worldwide!

Tattiana Kifile discovered her love for writing at an early age. She wrote her first story—Perdu the Monkey—when she was around 12 or 13 years old. She always saw magic in playful ideas and used words to bring those ideas to life. By 2020, she took a bold step and began publishing children’s books. She’s published nine titles so far in Amharic and English, and six of these are also available in Afan Oromo and Tigrigna. Each story carries a hint of wonder—she likes to paint vivid pictures of daring animals, friendly kids, and moments that make young readers smile. Her journey has been shaped by joyful creativity and a deep desire to share lessons in fun, memorable ways.

Writing has remained a constant source of excitement for her. She remembers the thrill she felt when her first manuscript reached the hands of readers who appreciated the characters she created. That feeling only grew stronger with each new publication. She’s always ready to introduce children to new adventures, especially ones that encourage positive values and inspire them to explore the world with open hearts. Her passion is genuine—she wants young minds to see that stories hold real power. There’s a special spark in her imagination… and she enjoys passing it along to kids and families everywhere.

The Fishta Series: Whimsical Lessons

Tattiana Kifile

One of her most beloved creations is the Fishta series—a set of stories that follows a talking fish named Fishta through unexpected journeys. The first book, Fishta The Talking Fish, shows how effective communication can bring people (and fish!) closer. By speaking up and sharing honest feelings, kids learn how to solve problems and build trust. She believes every conversation can start a wave of understanding.

The second book, Fishta & the Kids’ Father, continues that lesson. Here, Fishta highlights the importance of asking for help when something feels scary. Children who read this story learn that it’s a good idea to turn to parents and guardians whenever problems arise. Even a small moment of bravery—speaking up in uncomfortable situations—can prevent bigger troubles down the road.

The third book, Fishta Who?, sends Fishta on a quest to attend school. Fishta tries to convince family members to let her go, but the story suggests that even good ideas need proper approval. Rules exist for a reason, and kids discover that excitement and curiosity should align with responsible choices. Tattiana’s storytelling approach involves direct lessons that allow youngsters to see themselves in each scene. She offers gentle guidance—she shows that speaking up is valuable, but so is following guidelines set by trustworthy adults.

Fishta and the Stranger: A Lesson in Safety

In her newest release, Fishta and the Stranger: Fishta 4, Tattiana Kifile keeps that lively spark alive. This time, Fishta learns an important lesson: it’s great to be enthusiastic, and yet it’s wise to stay safe when meeting new people. Fishta finds out how to recognize individuals who might be untrustworthy. She also meets a stranger who lends a helping hand—proof that some new faces can be heroes.

Children who read about Fishta’s journey see how to trust their instincts and remain calm. They learn the value of staying in control of their feelings, so they can make good decisions when it matters most. If something feels off, they can reach out to a parent or a guardian. If someone kind appears, it’s okay to accept assistance. Tattiana’s message is straightforward: a bit of caution goes a long way.

Young readers often identify with Fishta’s adventurous spirit. They sense how thrilling it can be to explore unknown places or interact with unfamiliar people. However, this story reminds them to tap into their inner voice. Acting responsibly in new settings is a strong virtue—and one that helps them grow into capable individuals. Fishta remains a lovable hero, and readers see how she balances boldness with careful decisions.

Other Enchanting Adventures

Tattiana’s writing journey truly began with Perdu the Monkey (ፔርዱ ጦጣው), her earliest creation. This small monkey faces a big world and needs a family who cares enough to rescue him. The story presents a heroic rescue mission—kids see a baby monkey in need, and a caring family finds a way to help. It’s a sweet reminder that compassion is a key ingredient in every meaningful relationship. Tattiana adds a note about nature protection… because a family vacation can become a chance to do something amazing for wildlife. Little moments of kindness can be powerful lessons for children, encouraging them to appreciate and respect the world around them.

Her repertoire continues to grow. She showcases bravery and love in each story, revealing that curiosity opens doors to better understanding. Children feel inspired by tales of talking fish and friendly animals who model important lessons like honesty, courage, and clear communication. Parents often appreciate how Tattiana’s books spark family discussions—everyone gets a turn to share stories of times they spoke up or stayed safe. These moments build connections that last well beyond storytime.

Tattiana Kifile’s dedication to reaching children of diverse linguistic backgrounds is just as impressive. She presents many of her stories in Amharic, English, Afan Oromo, and Tigrigna. Her ability to adapt the same beautiful narrative in multiple languages shows a commitment to cultural inclusion. She knows that kids deserve to see themselves in stories, and it’s wonderful when they can read in a language that’s close to their hearts.

A Continuing Journey of Creativity

Tattiana’s path as an author keeps unfolding. She’s excited for each new idea—she wants to keep exploring fresh worlds that help children dream big. Every page she writes carries a touch of adventure and warmth, and every character she creates has a story to share. Her mission is simple: give kids narratives that nurture confidence and expand their view of the world.

Reading Tattiana Kifile’s books feels like stepping into a cozy world filled with fun lessons and friendly companions. She encourages all families to open the door to her stories and discover what Fishta or Perdu might teach them next. There’s always something new to learn—some lesson that sparks curiosity and reminds everyone to trust their instincts. She hopes her stories will keep bringing smiles, spark wonder, and foster a love for reading that lasts a lifetime.
