Life before fame

James was born in Detroit, Michigan. He has a sister by the name of Janelle.

James was very interested in horror movies at a very young age (and all throughout his life), and some of his influences have been Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark. Slashers were his favorite type of horror movie but have since become his least favorite subgenre.

When James was a teenager, he created his own horror page where he’d tall up the deaths in horror movies (akin to what his future channel Dead Meat does) and joined a band.

More about him

James is the host of the popular YouTube channel Dead Meat, as well as being the owner of his other channel, Practical Folks. His Dead Meat channel features a skit called Kill Count, where he counts the number of kills that happen during a horror movie. He has so far released such episodes for such films as Of the Living Dead, Black Christmas, Tales from the Hood, Basket Case, House of 1000 Corpses, Wrong Turn, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Carrie, Slumber Party Massacre, Candyman, Re-ANimator, Final Destination, Jaws, Sleepaway Camp, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Deadly Night, Silent Night, Evil Dead, Halloween, Predator, Jurassic Park, The Purge, Leprechaun, Saw, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play, Alien, Scream, and Friday the 13th.

Recently James has also started reviewing TV shows such as Stranger Things.
James is also no stranger to acting and editing as he has played a background character on some TV shows. Some of his other work includes being the writer for TMI Hollywood, as well as being the editor for Power hour and the camera and electrical department supervisor at THe Midnight Hour. Some of his acting roles have included appearing in such films as Powerhour, Hashtag, So far from God, Talons The Look-See Season 2, Once upon a University, and some other movie shorts.

James is also the host for the show Create A Killer and What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie.

Personal life and relationship status

James met Chelsea Rebecca at a friend’s party, and the pair quickly hit it off. Later on, they announced that they were engaged in September 2019. They finally tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in January 2022. James currently resides in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, together with his wife.

Some trivia

He was given the Dull Machete award as a joke when he made the kill count episode for Mordeo.
He has died 46 times throughout his videos.
He has also voiced the character of Ghostface in THEY TALK! and has been the voice for Mortal Kombat’s Kill Kount lines.

He is definitely someone worth checking out, as his content is quite creative and well-received.
