Stephen Bogaert is a Canadian actor, social media personality, and TV personality. He is probably most famous for his appearance in the Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy,” as well as American Psycho and It: Chapter Two.

Early life

Stephen grew up in Toronto, where he lived with his parents and siblings. He knew that he wanted to become an actor from an early age, and by the time he went to high school, he was already dedicated to becoming a professional actor.

His career

Stephen started his acting career back in 1997 when he performed a skit as Tybalt at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. After his actorial debut, he was quickly noticed by other Hollywood directors and subsequently was offered a role as Pentagon General Hastings in the popular movie X-Men: Apocalypse.
After his appearance in the X-Men franchise, Stephen was bombarded with other roles.
He then went on to star as Arthur Miller in the 2015 American made-for-TV drama film The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (Which starred Kelli Garner, Susan Sarandon, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Emily Watson).

In 2008 he was seen joining the cast of Murdoch Mysteries, where he portrayed Richard Binney.
Between 2015 and 2016, Stephen was also in such films as Gridlocked (where he played Carl), Swept Under (portraying Adam Fowler), Between (As Mr. Lotts), A Family Man (Playing HR Manager), and Deadly Inferno (Where he was cast as Michael).

Later on in his career, Stephen was cast as Gordie Sawchuck in the critically acclaimed movie Private Eyes. When Stephen appeared as Mr. Marsh in the movie “It,” he was asked to come back for the sequel It: Chapter Two, two play Alvin Marsh (2019).

In 2018 he appeared as Kirk Randall in the acclaimed 2018 movie Extracurricular, as well as playing Colonel Krug in Blood & Treasure (2019).
Then Stephen was seen as the FBI Director Benjamin Vargas in the Designated Survivor TV series.

His most recent roles have included The Umbrella Academy (Playing Carl Cooper) and appearing as Harold Langsgrove in Slaxx (2020).
The actor has stayed busy, and besides his acting roles, Stephen has also lent his voice on a number of occasions, one of which being the voice-over announcer for Canada’s Discovery Channel.
