His early life and career beginnings

D’Arcy’s father died when he was young. His mother raised him alongside his younger sister, Charlotte.

D’Arcy completed his high school education at Christ’s Hospital, a public school, at age 17. He attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts for a three-year course and graduated with a BA in Acting in 1995.

D’Arcy grew up in Fulham. He moved to Australia and worked at Christ’s Church Grammar School for boys in Perth, Western Australia, after high school, and then developed an interest in acting.

D’Arcy’s debut on television was in small parts on the television series Silent Witness and Dalziel and Pascoe in 1996. He starred in a British war drama film, Six Minutes to Midnight, as Captain Drey.
