We had the pleasure of interviewing Youssef Semaan, Operations Manager at Lift Mart Elevators and Escalators LLC, Dubai, UAE. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Youssef, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, growing up, I always had an insatiable curiosity when it came to transportation. Whether it was cars, planes, or even elevators, I was captivated by how these machines worked and how they seamlessly transported people from one place to another. It was a fascination that sparked my interest in the field.
Well, it all started when I was studying at university. During that time, I had an opportunity to apply for an internship in the transportation sector. I was fortunate enough to be selected and spent three months working in the field. It was during this internship that I realized my true passion and affinity for the industry. The experience was transformative, and I knew right away that this was the field I wanted to dedicate my life to.
It was elevators that particularly caught my attention. The vertical transportation system fascinated me, and I found myself drawn to the intricate mechanics and engineering behind it. The idea of creating an efficient and reliable means of moving people vertically within buildings was truly captivating.
Once I discovered my passion for the elevator industry, there was no turning back. I knew that I wanted to immerse myself in this field and grow both personally and professionally. It became clear to me that this was the industry where I wanted to make a significant impact, continuously learning and developing my skills to contribute to the advancement of vertical transportation. Since then, I have been committed to expanding my knowledge, gaining expertise, and working towards building a successful career in this fascinating industry.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Networking, goal setting, reading business books, and good old-fashioned hard work.
Networking remains one of my most powerful tools. By networking, I’m building relationships, gaining knowledge and insights, and creating new opportunities. By connecting with others in my, I’m able to expand my network, build valuable connections, and leverage these relationships to help achieve my goals.
By defining specific and measurable goals, I can establish a roadmap for success, track my progress, and stay motivated to achieve my desired outcomes. Regularly revisiting and adjusting my goals on a regular basis ensures that I’m working towards what truly matters.
Reading business books is highly underrated. It has helped me in countless ways and situations. I’m continuously learning, testing, and applying new ideas that aid in my personal and professional growth to always stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving business landscape.
Lastly, hard work.
Any message for our readers?
To truly achieve greatness, you must be willing to take charge and lead by example. Don’t wait for others to do what needs to be done; step up and take ownership of the situation. Be relentless and unwavering in your pursuit of success, and never let fear hold you back. Embrace challenges and obstacles and use them as opportunities to grow and learn. If you want something done right, don’t wait for someone else to do it. Roll up your sleeves, take charge, and show the world what you’re capable of. Be fearless in your pursuit of greatness, and never give up until you achieve your goals.
