Pastor Ky Cunningham’s Transformative Series “I Was Used to Being Used” Lights the Path from Trauma to Spiritual Freedom

Pastor Ky Cunningham brings personal experience, biblical teaching, and practical guidance together in the two-book I Was Used to Being Used series. Created for readers facing trauma, rejection, abuse, and damaging relationship patterns, the series approaches healing through the lens of Christian spiritual warfare.

The first book explains the spiritual and emotional principles behind deliverance, while the companion workbook guides readers through active reflection and application. Together, they present a structured journey toward restoration, spiritual confidence, and renewed identity in Christ.

A Spiritual Warfare Manual Rooted in Personal Experience

I Was Used to Being Used: Christian Spiritual Warfare Manual for Breaking Generational Curses, Overcoming Abuse, Inner Healing, and Defeating the Enemy examines how unresolved trauma can influence a person’s choices, relationships, thoughts, and sense of worth.

Pastor Ky Cunningham writes for people who feel trapped in repeated cycles of exploitation, rejection, emotional pain, or unhealthy attachments. Her central message is that trauma can become a spiritual battleground when past wounds continue shaping present behavior. Recognizing those wounds allows readers to begin addressing their roots with honesty and faith.

The manual explores how people can identify the ways trauma has affected their lives. It discusses spiritual strongholds, generational curses, ungodly soul ties, negative speech, and emotional patterns connected to earlier experiences. Readers are encouraged to examine where pain entered, how it developed, and what steps may help them close those doors.

Pastor Ky Cunningham also guides readers through inner healing and the process of reclaiming their identity. Biblical principles are presented alongside practical lessons drawn from her own transformation and ministry experience. The material invites readers to see themselves as active participants in their healing journey, equipped with prayer, spiritual awareness, and authority in Christ.

Her perspective carries a sense of lived understanding. She knows how it feels to become accustomed to mistreatment and to believe painful experiences have permanently defined one’s future. That familiarity gives the book a compassionate voice, especially for readers who are beginning to recognize the effect of trauma on their lives.

Turning Spiritual Insight Into Daily Application

The second volume, I Was Used to Being Used: The Companion Workbook for Dismantling Strongholds, Healing Soul Wounds, and Defeating the Enemy, extends the lessons of the manual through structured exercises.

This workbook is designed for personal reflection, focused prayer, and consistent application. Readers can examine specific experiences, identify lingering soul wounds, and create a personal plan for addressing the patterns that have kept them emotionally or spiritually restricted.

Interactive assignments encourage honest exploration of past pain and present habits. Strategic prayer points provide guidance for confronting negativity, breaking generational patterns, and addressing spiritual strongholds. Each exercise connects with principles introduced in the main manual, making it easier for readers to move from understanding a lesson to applying it in daily life.

The workbook also focuses on divine identity. Trauma can influence how a person views their value, relationships, and future. Through reflection and faith-centered activities, Pastor Ky Cunningham encourages readers to replace beliefs formed through exploitation with a stronger understanding of who they are in Christ.

Used together, the books create a progressive experience. Readers can study a principle in the manual and then explore how it relates to their own lives through the workbook. It’s a thoughtful format for anyone seeking a guided, prayerful approach to healing and spiritual growth.
