Moving abroad begins with possibilities: a new home, fresh opportunities, and hopes for a more secure future. Inegogo Fubara’s Relocation the Right Way: A Practical Guide to Planning Your Move Abroad with Confidence and Avoiding Costly Mistakes helps readers turn those hopes into a considered plan.
Written for individuals, couples, and families, the book explores the decisions that shape life before departure and after arrival. It’s grounded in personal experience, research, difficult choices, and lessons learned through starting over in the United Kingdom.
Turning the Dream into a Practical Strategy

Relocation involves a series of connected decisions. Where someone chooses to live can influence employment options, school access, transport expenses, and the support available nearby. Each choice deserves attention before money is committed or travel arrangements are finalised.
Inegogo encourages readers to examine their plans with realistic expectations. Securing a visa is an important milestone, while building a sustainable life requires further preparation. Immigration responsibilities, household needs, career prospects, and long-term goals all belong in that conversation.
Her guidance also addresses the pressure surrounding major moves. Urgency, other people’s opinions, and incomplete information can influence decisions with lasting consequences. Taking time to research allows prospective movers to assess what a particular pathway could mean several years ahead.
That perspective gives the book a clear purpose. Readers are encouraged to ask practical questions, understand their circumstances, and develop a strategy suited to the life they hope to build. A thoughtful pause can be valuable when a decision carries emotional and financial weight.
Preparing for the Everyday Realities of a New Country

The excitement of arrival soon meets everyday responsibilities. Accommodation needs to be secured, healthcare arranged, bills understood, and routines established. For families, school research and children’s adjustment add another layer of preparation.
The book brings these concerns into focus through guidance on choosing where to live, exploring schools and catchment areas, managing household responsibilities, and understanding the cost of living. These details help readers consider how their future home will function day by day.
Financial planning receives particular attention. Moving involves expenses that continue beyond the journey itself, and professional progress may take time. Inegogo highlights the possibility of beginning again financially and professionally, encouraging readers to consider how they’ll manage that transition.
Employment brings its own questions. Finding work and adapting to workplace culture require preparation, alongside an understanding of the expectations in a new environment. Readers are prompted to think about their career direction as part of their wider relocation plan.
Children also need space within that plan. Preparing them for a new country involves considering education, unfamiliar surroundings, and changes to their daily lives. Researching schools early can help parents make informed housing decisions and approach the move with greater clarity.
Settling into a community matters too. Familiarity grows through everyday interactions, access to services, and developing a sense of belonging. By exploring these practical areas together, the book helps readers picture the responsibilities attached to their relocation dream.

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Inegogo Fubara. I am a lawyer, compliance professional, and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), specialising in financial crime prevention. I am also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ACIS), and I was recognised as the Best Student in Corporate Administration during my qualifying examinations. In addition, I work as a Complex Case Resolution Specialist and Front Door Navigator within adult social welfare, supporting individuals with complex needs to access appropriate services and support. I am also the author of Relocation, The Right Way, a practical guide for individuals and families preparing to relocate abroad.
Please tell us about your journey.
My relocation journey began when I moved to the United Kingdom as a widowed mother. Starting over came with emotional, financial, and practical challenges. Through that experience, I learned that determination alone is not enough—successful relocation requires research, preparation, realistic expectations, and a clear long-term strategy.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The key strategies were planning ahead, researching thoroughly, managing finances carefully, staying open to learning, and making informed decisions rather than acting on pressure or incomplete information. My faith, resilience, and willingness to adapt also played an important role.
Any message for our readers.
Relocation is more than obtaining a visa or arriving in a new country. It is a major life transition that requires preparation and purpose. Before you move, understand the realities, plan for the unexpected, and think beyond your first day. Turn your dream into a strategy.
