Parenting is not an emotionally easy situation. Parenting involves people feeling exposed to different emotional triggers and situations that can inspire a great degree of anger, sadness, anxiety, and a host of other emotions that can be difficult. Often, it can also lead to triggered responses that might be excessive and difficult to handle, and that can have a negative impact on the kids and lead to a lot of conflict in the home. With Kacey Quinn’s new book, Anger Management for Parents Made Simple: 11 Proven Techniques to Master Your Triggers and Emotions, Achieve Peace and Balance, and Raise Self-Assured, Positive Children, parents can surely find a better way to handle these emotions, especially anger.
Children Will Act Out
Children will act out, that is just a fact of life. Even the nicest, most well-behaved kids have days when they will throw tantrums, act defiantly, disobey, demand, whine, and so on. It’s normal, and there are periods of a child’s development that are especially linked with this behavior. At two years old, kids might go through a period of “no”, which is a part of their growth. Still, even if we recognize this as normal, it doesn’t mean it’s not draining for the parents or that it’s not emotionally overwhelming.
Parents are also people and might react badly at some points, becoming overly angry. This can lead to negative cycles in family life and lead to the parent feeling guilty or ashamed. Kacey Quinn’s guide is a way of quickly gaining more tools to address the central problem.
Written With Compassion
The guide is written with a great deal of compassion and understanding. It is meant for parents who have little time and who have a lot of pressure, encouraging them to find a way to break the cycle. The book walks you through understanding, regulating, and recognizing negative emotions, as well as managing the triggers associated with these.
Quinn helpfully guides parents towards the roots of their anger and other negative emotions, as well as towards developing and cultivating working techniques that can be employed in many situations. In addition to this, the book is concerned with parental well-being and offers a gentle route away from burnout.
Quinn provides 11 proven techniques that parents can use and implement to maintain and a warm and serene home atmosphere. These techniques are explained in a beginner-friendly way and are all very concise, respecting the parents’ limited time.

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
Hi! I’m Kacey Quinn, and I’m a parenting and self-help author who focuses on real, honest support for moms, dads, and anyone navigating the highs and lows of family life. I write about parenting, motherhood, emotional wellness, and family connection. My goal is to help parents feel less alone, more in control of their emotions, and more confident in their parenting journey without feeling pressured to be perfect.
Please tell us about your book.
My book is called Anger Management for Parents Made Simple. It’s written for parents who love their children deeply but find themselves snapping, yelling, or feeling completely overwhelmed. The book offers 11 simple, proven techniques to help manage anger, calm emotional reactions, and create more peace at home.
It’s packed with practical tools like calm-down checklists, emotion-tracking templates, and reflection exercises that are easy to fit into a busy parent’s day. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just another “do better” book, but something that feels like a supportive guide from one parent to another.
Please tell us about your journey.
My journey into writing this book came from real-life experience. I’m a mom myself, and like many parents, I’ve had moments where I felt completely stretched thin. There were days when I didn’t like the way I reacted, and I felt so much guilt afterward. But instead of staying stuck in that cycle, I started researching, learning, and trying out techniques that actually helped.
I realized I wasn’t alone and that so many parents were silently struggling with the same things. That’s what inspired me to turn what I’ve learned into a book that could really help others.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The biggest strategy was giving myself permission to grow without guilt. I stopped expecting perfection and started focusing on small, intentional progress. That’s something I bring into my writing as well.
I also learned the power of mindfulness, self-awareness, and routine check-ins. These simple things that helped me better understand my triggers and stay calm in difficult moments. And honestly, connecting with other parents, sharing stories, and building a community has been just as important as any technique in a book.
Any message for our readers?
If you’ve ever ended the day feeling like you failed as a parent, I want you to know you’re not alone, and you’re not failing. You’re human. It’s okay to have hard moments. What matters most is that you care enough to grow, to pause, and to show up with love the next time.
Parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection, presence, and grace—both for your kids and for yourself. You’re doing better than you think.
Thank you so much, Kacey, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
