Lyldoll attended Allendale Junior High School until 13 years old. When she was growing up, Lyldoll’s idol was Michael Jackson, and she took that inspiration and entered various singing competitions and contests while being only seven years old. She also appeared in a radio contest for 91.7 CHBN-FM radio station The Bounce (located in Edmonton, Alberta). Lyldoll managed to win the contest in 2006.

Her professional career

In 2008 Lyldoll traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia, in order to work with the songwriting-production team Hip joint Productions. The team produced and wrote seven of the songs from Lyldoll’s debut album Picture Imperfect, including the Canadian platinum best-selling single “Operator (A Girl Like Me).”

She was also signed to Universal Music Canada in 2008, as well as the Universal Republic in 2009. Then she released her debut album Picture Imperfect, which was released on August 18, 2009. The album had three singles.

“Operator (A Girl Like Me)” was the first single from her debut album Picture Imperfect. The album charted on the Canadian Hot 100, and she was listed as Billboard Canada’s No. 1 Emerging Talent Artist on December 19, 2008. This song was also included in the Much Dance 2009 CD.
On December 1, 2009, Lyldoll was featured on War Child: 10, where she was collaborating with The Clicks to cover “People Have The Power” by Patti Smith.

In her more recent years, starting from 2016, Lyldoll’s management changed from Tanjola to Future 5th. Sadly her father passed away, from which she was inspired to produce music once more. She immediately started working on her new album titled 1993.

The album was delayed for personal issues, but Lyldoll released a demo song from the new album titled “Stealin,” it was released for streaming on SoundCloud on January 28, 2018. The demo, however, is no longer available, but it has instead been uploaded to a YouTube channel titled FR.

While in quarantine, during April 2020, Lyldoll started to work on a music video for the song Pillz’, however no updates relating to the music video have been released in over a year, and the updated information the production of the music video previously mentioned were deleted.

It is likely that she is going to release her new album sometime in 2020.
