Who is Nivea B. Hamilton?

Nivea B. Hamilton, better known by her stage name Nivea, is an American singer who has reached the Billboard charts during the early 2000s. Nive is probably most known for her Grammy-nominated singles “Don’t Mess with My Man,” as well as “Laundromat,” and YoungBloodZ & Lil’ Jon featured the single “Okay.” Nivea has released a total of three studio albums to date: Nivea (Released in 2001), Complicated (Released in 2005), Animalistic (Released in 2006), as well as an independently released extended version of her debut albums Nivea: Undercover (2011).

Nivea also released her album Mirrors on September 26, 2019, featuring such chart-topping hits as “Circles.”

Early life before fame

Nivea grew up in Savannah, Georgia, and is the youngest of three sisters. Nivea has stated that Mariah Carey was a huge inspiration for her when growing up, and she admired the esteemed singer from an early age. Nivea was also one of the singers in her local church choir. Nivea has revealed that she used to be very shy in an interview for BET “Finding Nivea.” She said she disliked having anyone hear her sing and that even when she was at home if she would hear her parents turning down the radio, she would automatically stop singing as her voice embarrassed her for some reason.

Her career

Nivea first appeared in the music seen in 2000 when she appeared on Mystikal’s hit single “Danger (Been So Long),” this gave Nivea some much-needed recognition and garnered her some buzz. Following the success of the single, she signed a contract with Jive Records and released her debut solo single “Don’t Mess With The Radio,” which came out in 2001 and received moderate success, peaking at the number 90 spoon the Hot 100 and number 85 spot on the R&B charts. Her label later decided to focus on releasing her tracks internationally, so her first self-titled debut album was released in Japan and Australia first. The album was finally released to the American audience on September 25, 2001, and peaked at number 80 on the Billboard 200 and number 85 on R&B charts.

After the success of her first album, Nivea began working on her second studio album, releasing the buzz single “You Wanna Touch Me,” which featured rapper Akon and Rasheeda and peaked at number 86 on R&B (2004). It was at this point that Nivea met Terius “The-Dream” Nash, and the two began dating, while Terius also oversaw the primary production of Nivea’s forthcoming album.

In 2005 Nivea released her lead single “Okay,” which featured Lil’ Jon and YoungBloodZ. The single became a hit and peaked at number 14 on R&B.

Relationship status

Nivea was married to Terius “The-Dream” Nash for over three years, and they have two children together. Nivea is also a two-time fiance to the famous rapper Lil Wayne.
