Hi Sami, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, I am a reggae artist, songwriter, and producer. My musical journey started as a DJ in 2000, as Island Sounds Music. Since then, I decided I enjoyed listening to reggae with a hip-hop flavor and decided to do a few collaborations with a group called Slow Motion Sounds in Huntsville, Alabama. After a few releases like “Move your body,” “My Block,” and “Gun Shot,” I migrated to South Florida to pursue my dream of being a reggae artist under my label Samiranks Music. My first release under my label started with a song titled Watch Over Me and since then released several singles and albums with various artists.
Please tell us about your newest album, Heart of Gold.
I am currently in the process of releasing my newest album, titled Heart of Gold, with various artists. The melody of the songs can allow anyone to relax and reflect on the goodness of life. The goal was to provide the listeners with the inspiration that the reality we face can also add value to our lives each and every day. On this album, my song is titled “Dear Pen and Paper.” The title was created because, as I was writing, I realized social media had changed the game of who cares to hear your story. However, the pen and the paper have always been there to keep the words that I may be thinking at the time that I wanted to tell the world, so I started talking to the pen and paper as if I was writing a letter to them.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The strategies that allowed me to be successful were accepting the challenges as a learning lesson and paying attention to what was happening in the market before releasing new songs. I was never in a rush to release a song, and I believe quality is highly important to make a name for myself in the industry.

Always remember to keep a positive attitude. There’s something positive in every challenge you face. You have to spend time finding it and learning to create a stronger brand for yourself, whatever that brand or goal you might have.
