Adam Kesselhaut, a New York area native, began his career as a tenor in European opera performances, including an assignment with the Vienna National Opera and as a soloist in Philharmonic Rock.
He wrote and worked as a vocal producer for many top charting songs in various countries and markets, including ELAIZA’s #1 hit, Is It Right, Germany’s song for the Eurovision Song Contest.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Adam Kesselhaut. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Adam, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.
Songwriting is the cornerstone of everything I do. I used to sing in the opera but always wrote music, and eventually, that became more successful. I began writing for many great acts. After a while, I opened up a recording studio called BEWAKE with some other people, including Mr. Luckyloop producing and hosting countless great musicians over the years. Now I’m working on a project that is closest to my heart, Bernd Bridges, a TV show about a guy named Bernd. My partner in writing this is a real guy named Bernd, who sang the German version of my song. He runs a really big video portal dedicated to multilingual video content, which inspired us to create our show.
Please tell us more about your journey.
I started out wanting to be an opera singer. My father was in the country western, and blue grass music business, and my mother was a classical singer. So I became a singer who wrote simple songs. I made my way as an opera singer, but it was not an easy path. I feel much more at home writing music for others, and now writing music for myself. In fact, I always wanted to be a singer. With this project, Bernd Bridges, I sing my own songs, and this is deeply fulfilling to me after all these years.
Please share with our readers about your TV show, Bernd Bridges.
In our TV show Bernd Bridges, Bernd gets into many crazy situations while running his tech company and traveling the world for it. My character loves his best friend Bernd and gets inspired from their daily video calls in which Bernd tells his extraordinary stories. The inspiration leads to a heartfelt song about the situation. This song, Girl Behind The Mask, is for the episode in which Bernd is on business in Tokyo. He is brought in contact with a woman who has a medical mask on, as many people do in Japan, even before the Covid pandemic. Bernd is startled by her directness and runs off to his hotel room and calls Adam.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The strategies are to keep releasing music with my voice and part of our unique project Bernd Bridges. If I work on projects I love and work with integrity, getting things done every day to promote my art, it will take on a life of its own and lead to wealth and acclaim.
