Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us about what it is that you do.
Hello, my name is Jahkeem Forrester, known as Keem Reign. I am a singer-songwriter, and so far, I am mixing/producing my music myself. I am originally from Brooklyn, NY, but have lived in numerous states, including GA, NV, NC, and MI. Each place has had an influence on me.
Please tell us about your latest album.
I just released a massive 25-track album, “Life Goes On” as my first project, taking a surprising ALL-or-nothing approach. This album is a story about heartbreak specifically and all of the phases I went through going through my healing process.
Please tell us about your journey.
It’s funny how the greatest lessons come from LOSS. I’ve had to Overcome numerous setbacks that left me feeling like I wasn’t good enough. I’ve lost everything from scholarships, career jobs, relationships, possessions, pets, friends, all things that I thought would last forever, ultimately to find myself through expressing emotion in music.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Things that helped me become successful are tenacity, persistence, consistency, confidence, and determination. I would be wrong not to mention my family and friends, who have always had faith in me and continually provided support and feedback. My son is a major motivation for me as well.
